Unhygenic!. I was a die hard fan of Udi's, going there around twice a week for lunch on my breaks - but after three or four incidents of finding anything from hair to a house fly in my salads/sandwiches, I had to swear the place off! I wouldn't recommend it unless they put in place some higher sanitary standards!
Excellent food!!.
I visit Udi's at least once a month to get my "fix". Apple/walnut/chicken on cranberry walnut bread is my favorite. Their soups are fantastic and their potato salad is the best I have tasted in the US.
We bring all our European guests here for the wonderful bread and everyone loves to see how they make the bread. Give it a try, you won't be dissapointed!
LOVE Udi's!. Before finding this Udi's location on Broadway, I was a frequent customer at our neighborhood Udi's in Stapleton. They're both great (the Stapleton one is a bit more kid-friendly for my active toddler). Their sandwiches are delicious, creative and very filling. They also do great catering trays for work events, which is always a crowd-pleaser.
Quality ingredients, freshly baked breads and voyeuristic views into the wonders of baking woo regulars to this sandwich haven..
In Short
At this industrialized sandwich shop-cum-bakery, bread-heads stand elbow-to-elbow in lines to nosh on the top-notch baked goods churned out by owner and master baker Udi Baron--aka Udi the Sandwich Man. He's an Israeli native who leavens his loaves, rolls and doughs into labors of love. The sandwiches, which run the gamut from arugula and roasted salmon to curried chicken and classic turkey, are works of art, as are the luscious desserts.
