Tips for Dalat Vietnamese Restaurant

This restaurant is the best Vietnamese restaurant I have been to. I have eaten a lot of Vietnamese food in my days, but hands down this place outdone them all. The food is beyond expectations, bold and filling. The cost is reasonably price, I mean a meal at a fast food joint is pricier than this restaurant. I would highly recommend anyone that enjoy food to try this place out. Service is 5 star, food 5 star, overall dining experience 5 star if there is a 6 star, this place is it.

Still the Best of "Silk Road Alley" on Federal Blvd..
At Dalat, a big portion of calamari was altogether winning, served delicately seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic and something I could not identify, and fried just enough to take on a lightly gritty, pleasantly dry texture. Everytime, Dalat does well by seafood. Fried snapper with tamarind sauce is superb, the skin crackly, the meat moist and the sauce both sweet and spicy. Braised fish in slightly sweet caramel sauce is likewise full of flavor, though it arrived not in the traditional clay pot but in a nondescript metal one.
I loved the Hue clam salad served with little crackers, spicy enough to make the mouth glow, with a musky flavor that is part clam and part fish sauce. Papaya salad with shrimp is a soothing, refreshing contrast.
I liked bun thit nuong ($6), thin rice noodles topped with pieces of grilled pork; it is hard to ruin this dish. Both pho tai ($6), the classic northern soup with thin slices of rare beef, and bun bo Hue ($6), a spicy beef-and-pork noodle soup was complex and delicious.

Wonderful Home Made Food. Da Lat is a great Vietnamese restaurant. It is family owned and run. The mother cooks all the dishes fresh. The place is clean and friendly. It is a treat.

The best Restaurant, but limited parking. The very best Vietnamese restaurant on South Federal. While others go to New Saigon to get mistreated and over charged for average Vietnamese fare, knowledgeable customers go a little further South on Federal to Da Lat. It's the best kept secret on the strip, The service and food are first rate while the quantities are generous and affordable. This is what New Saigon was 10 years ago before it was ruined by its popularity.
