I have always enjoyed The Rover ecept for the last few months when service has failed to treat a VERY LONG time customer very well. I have witnessed first hand the decline in the treatment of customer service and this Saturday December 22 2012 I witnessed a very disturbing event where the doorman physically assaulted a man apperantly for no reason. The man had to leave with blood on himself due to the injuries. This once great bar has turned into a trouble spot and I can no longer recommend a violent hostile place. Very Sad!!!
They can do much better!.
Over the weekend, stopped in to watch a game. Nice TV's and great visitors.
The service just sucks... any service employees?
There are too many Irish Sports Bars to compete with, I know they can do better.
I will try again!
Never again. I became a member of this site for the sole reason of giving the Irish Rover a terrible review. I stopped in with a few friends for the 2 for 1 special a week ago. Everything seemed decent when we got there. Then we realized how small of a bar it was. Sitting at the bar, while 20 or so drunk people proceeded to order drinks from behind us, and the bartender would pass them over our heads. That wasn't too bad, dealable at least. Then after finishing the first round of drinks and wanting another, the bartender completely ignored us! After about 10 minutes of trying to order another drink we decided it was time to pay the tab and go. BUT the bartender wouldn't even pay enough attention for us to pay him! Not wanting to leave with out paying, we did everything we could to get his attention, but to no avail. So we didn't even pay and I'd still say it's one of the worst bars I've been to in Denver.
Not impressed. I only went the one time a few weeks back, but I don't plan to ever visit again. It's a small place and it was sooo stuffy I couldn't breathe. I was in there for maybe 10 minutes and I had to go outside to get some fresh air before I even had a drink! And really, in general, a poor example of an Irish bar period. If you're going for the Irish vibe, go somewhere else for sure.
Best Irish Bar in Denver.
This is truly the best irish bar in colorado.went in there on a Thursday night a few weeks ago and had a great time.very cheap drinks and good food. The service was amazing, everyone was nice and friendly.meet some of the locals and had a pint with them.i hope Gary considers me a regular at this stage.for all the ladies reading this, Gary is the sexiest irish guy in denver.Hes from Limerick City ( i hope i spelt it right )
Highly recommend this bar 10 out of 10
Great Place to go - best Irish Pub in town!. The Rover is a great place to go to hang out with friends. The atmosphere is so friendly and inviting; Alan and his staff are awesome - they go out of their way to make sure everyone is having fun!
What a great place!. Was in town on business from Palm Beach and stopped in on a whim. They had a great menu and everyone was so nice and helpful. When I come back, this place will be a must. Was very pleasantly surprised. (Now I have a favorite bartender - NY!)
fun atmosphere, great staff. Plus a patio! can't beat that on broadway! The staff is always respectable and nice, and the drinks are good, never watered down.

Knock back a few pints at this casual Irish pub nestled in the historic Baker neighborhood..
In Short
The pub's dark-wood paneling and exposed-brick walls are lined with signed soccer jerseys and pictures of old pub musicians. A jukebox constantly blasts everything from U2 and Van Morrison to traditional Irish tunes--it's only unplugged when Celtic folk bands take over. In addition to the quintessential pint of beer, the bar also serves wine and cocktails. Customers with the munchies can chow on pizza, chicken wings or artichoke dip.
