Aveda on Market has loud irritating music, but it's tolerable. You can easily communicate and they mix up the songs. So I can take it, even at times enjoy it. But Blanc is the worst case scenario. The music is insanely loud. The salon is so cool, but the owners must not understand the business relationship between a client and stylist depends on communication. The experience is ruined when the client can’t relax with Techno BLASTING. And who is it that actually enjoys Techno? It’s pretty much passé anyway. It’s sad because the Civic Center/Golden Triangle area needs a great upscale salon. Cherry Creek is saturated with worthy salons that could compete with L.A.’s best.
Pros: Conviently located and no problem parking. Nice staff.
Cons: No Zen peace....loudest music I've every heard in a salon or even night club.

I've been going to Ty for a couple of years now, and I love him. I always went to Cost Cutters and thought paying that much for a haircut was insane, but then I got a disaster of a haircut and went to him to have it fixed. I was initially intimidated, but once he cut my hair, I was addicted. There is a huge difference between having just a haircut and having a hairSTYLE. Ty has done things with my hair that I never would have thought of doing, but he respected that I was a little more conservative at first and didn't start off too drastically. Andrea is fantastic and all the girls (and guys) that work there are great. I highly recommend going. There are a lot of stylists, just ask for a consult so you can find the best one. And you may have to be more forceful with Ty if you really want something specific (he's big on thinning, make sure you say no right up front if you really don't want it done). But if you let him do his thing, you might be surprised at how awesome your hair can look.
