Fun, Original Food.
What a treat!
I live near here and we visit often. Their broad menu means I always have something new to try. And I haven't been disappointed yet.
Kid-friendly, great brunch!. We love our neighborhood Udi's, but we're so sad they are no longer open for dinner. Their salads and brunch dishes are really yummy, and we have a friend who is addicted to their French Dip sandwich. The french toast and grilled cheese are also fantastic (made with big slices of their homemade challah). They also have nice outdoor seating, so on a pretty morning it's great to sit outside and people-watch.
Who do they want to be?.
I have been dinning here for the last two years and the restaurant has finally settled on its identity. I preferred the sit down waited service that it once was, but have become accustomed to their current ?place your order at the counter and take a number approach?.
You can?t say much about the service, because there really is not any in their current format of restaurant. They are pleasant when they take your order, but that is the limit of your interaction.
As for the food, I have had some good meals and some not so good meals.
What they do well:
? Breakfast, Salads, Specials. French Dip (one of the best in town) & French Fries.
On the Fence:
? Burgers (I ordered medium well and got medium rare. The chef chose to argue with me about it rather than just replacing the darn thing).
? Bolognese (It?s fantastic, but also fantastically overpriced for what you get).
What Needs Help:
? All their remaining sandwiches (its amazing how bad the bread can be, especially coming from an in house bakery).
Unbelievable!!!. My husband and I eat here. Nealry each item on the menu (I haven't tried all of them - YET) is an adventure for the pallette. The taste, textures, and smells take you around the world, and leave you feeling drunk with pleasure. The Small Plates menu is perfect for anyone who wants to experience each dish, truly savor every ingredient, in perfectly appetite pleasing portions. I can't say enough. The service is spectacular; not only friendly, but welcoming - like you've just come home to a family gathering.
In love with Udis.
Whether you go for brunch, lunch, or dinner- Udi's is the spot. The service is consistently good, the food is wonderful, and the atmosphere is cheerful.
For lunch, the turkey avocado sandwich is mellow and comforting.
For dinner, the new small plate menu is fantastic and affordable. The small plates salads are around $3 and have a wonderful assortment of vegetables with cheeses and nuts. The seared sushi-grade tuna with pearl couscous and harissa is sumputous. The skirt steak with mint and tomato is flavorful and hearty. The wonderful small plates menu goes on and on.
If you like tapas/ small plates, you must try Udis!
One of the best meals in a long time.
Just went to Udi's last night and they had their new menu, WOW. Everything was great. Had the warm hummus starter, which was out of this world. My wife ordered the chick pea ravioli and I had the seared tune. Both dishes were done to perfection. The tuna was perfectly done, seared and almost raw in the middle, the way I like it. The raviloi was amazing and great for summer.
The breat of course was awesome.
Stapleton's Best Bet. Udi's is our favorite lunch and dinner place at Stapleton. The setting is mellow, with cool colors, jazz playing and a friendly waitstaff. The prices are a good value, $8 - $16, depending on what you'd like. The food is delicious and dependable. Take home a loaf of their homemade bread with you.
Beloved local bread maker creates sandwiches and more at retail location in the Stapleton Town Center neighborhood..
In Short
After years of supplying fresh bread to dozens of Denver restaurants, Udi Bar-on and his son Etai have begun using their specialty loaves in meals ranging from breakfast to dinner. The airy little sandwich shop is often crowded with the designer urbanites that call Stapleton home. A lunch highlight is the roasted salmon sandwich with argula on Ciabatta, while a good choice for dinner is the meatballs and tagliatelle pasta in tomato sauce.
