great atmosphere. it started off slow, but it gets better each time. great steaks. great crab cakes. the peanut butter, jelly, and bacon sandwich was amazing! who woulda thought--elvis i guess.
Great Food, Great Service, and Great Friends.
Was in Denver visiting some friends when we decided to try something new. Found our way into Victory for a casual dinner and were not dissapointed, in fact, very impressed. They were able to quickly accomodate our large group (11) without a reservation in a very comfortable manner, not to mention being there at the same time as a wedding rehersal dinner. Our service was very professional and a lot of fun to interact with. The food was served in a timely fashion and was excellent. I highly recommend the Fool's Gold Sandwich. The combination of peanut butter, blueberry jelly, and bacon on a loaf of French bread had me scratching my head at first, but after the first bite, I new I was in love. The leftovers the next day were even delicious.
If a restaurant experience like no other is what you're after, look no further than Victory American Grill.
Magnificent!!
Great Place!. I really enjoyed dining at Victory. A couple friends and I were in downtown and decided to wander in for a few beers and ended up staying for dinner. The atmosphere was extremely comfortable. Upscale enough to convey quality and yet casual enough to feel comfortable in jeans and a polo. The menu is extensive and has something for everyone. Make sure you try a few of their delicious apps before deciding on a main course. Highly recommended!
Great Service, Better Food. Last night, I took my family to Victory for dinner. First, I was blown away by the beautiful decour. The vaulted ceilings and chandeliers make for an upscale feel that impresses your family friends without hurting the pocketbook. We will be back many times.
Try the Fool's Gold!!!. I had a great experience at the Victory. There was a group of 6 of us that were in the mood for great food that wouldn't break the bank. We started off with the Elvis tribute -Fool's Gold sandwich, a combination of peanut butter, blueberry jelly, and bacon. I was skeptical at first, but I will be going back many times for this incredible sandwich. The full loaf of bread was devoured within minutes of being delivered, so we ordered another. Make sure to negotiate the price, we didn't pay close to the suggested $52.80 that the menu lists. Our entrees were fantastic as well. The Mac and cheese was a favorite as was the meatball sandwich. Great atmosphere and drink menu. They have an awesome beer from the Victory brewing company called the "golden monkey", which I have yet to find anywhere else. I will definately be going back to the Victory.
Great experience at Victory!. I truly enjoyed the atmosphere at the Victory. It was full but not too loud. Our server was excellent and was very knowledgeable about the entire menu. I ordered the stuffed pork chops which were delicious and fairly priced. For dessert we had the bananas foster which was made right in front of us and flamed tableside! It was a very unique way to experience having dessert and made for a great conversation. I would recommend this restaurant anytime. It is right in the historical Baurs building which makes you feel right at home in Denver. After going to the theatre this was a very convenient and welcoming place to dine. I look forward to my next experience.
not bad at all, for late-night happy hour. my bf and i were walking around after getting back to our hotel from seeing the nuggets/jazz game and happened across this place. we sat in the bar and had a couple beers and some appetizers for a mere $12! the bartender made my new favorite beer blend - stella and guiness, which apparently they call a belgian brunette in denver - and the prime rib sliders were yummy! i don't know about their regular dinner fare, but the happy hour was well worth the value.
Love the food and the historic feel of the building!.
I was walking on 16th Street one night with my husband. We were looking for something different than we usually see (Paramount Cafe, Palomino, Cheese Cake Factory...) We stopped by the Victory. We had a great time; the food was excellent and different! We were happy to discover another historic building of downtown Denver that we never really paid attention to before.
We highly recommend it!
Spend your money at a better restaurant. The original idea, moderate price fare to match the chef's limited skills, was not a bad one. It's pretty hard to mess up a buffalo burger. But, the new menu is overpriced, and for the same money I can eat a much better restuarant downtown. We went back after a few casual dinner trips there to find they were trying to become a steakhouse. My husband had the beef tritips that tasted like Chef Boy Ar Dee sans the Beef, on top of what appeared to be reconstituted potatoes. The only great thing about the meal was the starter of cucumber soup and avacado salad, which tasted like an actual culinary effort. If you want to spend $50 + on dinner, don't do it here.
no bang for your buck here. my friends and i were out for girls night. we stopped by only because there was no wait on our way to a show. this should have told us something. it took 10 minutes to get our drinks ordered, another 10 minutes to get them and they were not mixed right. food was hot and tasted good but again we had an unbelievable wait time. waiters/waitresses all standing around talking w/ each other no one asked us if we needed refills, additional items, nothing.
