Awful Massage
by RY
I went to this spa over a year ago and I told the front desk person at the spa that I could barely talk because of laryngitis and she assured me the therapist wouldn't talk. I was so disappointed when all she did was talk and try to make me talk. All I wanted to do was relax with no talking and that didn't happen. I was almost in tears so by the time it was over I couldn't wait to get home I was very sad and dissappointed beyond belief. And most definitely not relaxed.I love the Brown for it's high teas etc.. but never again will I use thier spa services as it was beyond awful.
- Pros: atmosphere and steamshowers
- Cons: Unprofessional Massage
Lovely atmosphere

I loved the spa and the rooms, especially the steam showers...Wow! I love this hotel and the food in Ellyington's. My only complaint was that my massage was a little lacking and my facial was simply not worth it. I had a male provider for my massage and he was light handed (I specified deep tissue). While he was professional I didnt walk away with that OMG feeling that I usually come away from a spa with, I am assuming he is new to the spa profession which says something. My facial was regretful. I am an avid spa participant and I am a preferred client at Canyon Ranch...they have a long way to go with the staff (hire professionals with experiece!) The steam shower was delicous and the ambiance was nice.
- Pros: the atmosphere
- Cons: inexperienced staff
Absolutely the best in Denver.

I've been to about 5 different spas in Denver and none of them compare to The Brown. At other spas, I've had lackluster massages by newbie massage therpists and pedicures in uncomfortable, tight spaces. They were okay, but nothing really luxurious. At the Brown I've had 5 great massages already. Darcy is my favorite. I've had one very good pedicure. The atmosphere is just so relaxing. It is VERY expensive. But in my mind totally worth it. Its a splurge.
- Pros: Free valet parking, be sure to tell them you're going to the spa. Darcy. Atmosphere.
- Cons: Very expensive/automatic 20% tip charge.
