Vines Wine Bar is the hip, urban bar in the burbs! Established in 2005, Vines brings that downtown ambiance, social scene, live music, great wine and food, martinis and more to you. Our gourmet small plates are all served tapas style (4 to 6 ounce portions) meant to be shared with friends. We offer 80+ wines by the glass and more than triple that by the bottle. We also serve a selection of fine beers and spirits, and we infuse our own vodkas for a wide variety of martinis. View Less … View More
Food Good, service not so much.... First time we went was Valentines in 2011. The whole experience was awesome..great food and awesome service. Second time was my birthday, we made reservations and were really expecting a great night. When we got there, they did not have our reservations, the hostess was less than impressive, we both got the vibe she thought she was doing us a favor to even take us to a table. No apologies about losing our reservation and then the "UGH" moment View Less … View More
Not a good experience. Ugh, so upset that I took friends from out of town to this restaurant with my husband for my birthday. We always love tapas and were so disappointed. Most of the plates were really mediocre in taste and the portions were the smallest I have ever seen for a tapas restaurant (and the pricing way to high for these portions). I was a little annoyed that boxed crackers were served with the cheese plate and that no fresh bread was available when we asked. The service was O.K. We had to fix the bill after we were double charged for our wine bottles. All in all- won't be returning there. Really bummed since we love wine bars and tapas. View Less … View More
It is the best of its kind!!!. I am convinced that BR54 and SJP5 are envious competitors trying to undermine the restaurant. I have been a regular customer at Vines since it opened and I can say WITHOUT reservation that these complaints are not even REMOTELY representative of the service and cordiality at Vines. Simply put, the owners hire wait staff expressly for their ability to deal with customers. The owners and staff go OUT of their way to be helpful, knowledgable and friendly. I have often seen new first time customers come in and accidentally order a wine which they don't care for. I have seen the owners and bar staff simply pick up the wine and not charge the customer, help them find a wine they like, or provide another drink. Also, I have seen the chef fix wonderful special dishes for guests OFF the menu.To put it bluntly, if you avoid Vines, you'll miss out on a VERY nice experience. As part of contributing to a local wine blog, I have been to many Wine Bars/Bistros all around the state and Vines is in the first rank for quality and variety of wine choices, quality of its food, service and ambiance. Rude uncaring service? Poor food? HOGWASH!!!! View Less … View More
Not too good!!!. We went to Vines last evening. There were 4 of us, 2 couples. The ladies were very excited as they are real wine lovers. As we entered, we were seated quickly and greeted by our server. The ladies asked what wine she recommended and they ordered. My buddy and I ordered beers. They came shortly and we ordered our food. The soup and my Caprese salad came shortly and we ate it, and enjoyed it, albeit a little on the small side. I compare the Caprese salad to that I get often at Armandos here in Parker. The server soon brought the main courses, except for mine. She didn't seem too aware that mine was not there, perhaps since I had chosen only stuffed mushroom caps for my dinner. In any case, I mentioned that mine was missing and she said she would check on it. A little later, she came back and said mine would be done soon, the cook had dropped it. At this very same time, my wife and friends were just finishing their meals. I said it wasn't a big deal, let's just skip it and get on with dessert. No apology or any question of any kind from our server, just ok. I had ordered my dessert at the start of the ordering and my wife and her friend ordered theirs now. It came shortly and was good. We all agreed that the portions were small, but good, at least the food we got. The server never apologized for the food mix-up. The manager never came to our table to apologize or recognize our situation. Seems somewhat less than we would expect from a place like Vines. It was probably more closely related to what I would expect from IHOP or something. View Less … View More
Bad Valentine's Day "Special".
My husband and I have been to Vines in the past for wine and tapas. We thought we'd give it a try for the $150 Valentine's Special. There
was nothing "special" about the dinner. We were so disappointed!
After an extra long wait for the food, the "medium" filet mignon was served fully cooked (no pink) and was tough. The lobster tail was extremely fishy and extra rubbery. They even managed to mess up the steamed veggies.
When the bill arrived, we noticed that 20% gratuity was already included. While we don't blame our server for the poor food, it would have been nice to specify our own tip.
Wine is the only reason I would return to this place. The food was horrible!!!
