Aurora >Pet Palace Veterinary Clinic
Twice now, I've taken my dogs to Dr. Haas for a second opinion. Now, he's my first opinion. In the past, when I was given prescriptions for my pets, I would think to myself, "yeah, right, easy for you to say." Dr. Haas always gives the first dose. That way, he can see if there's going to be problems administering it, and I can say, "he can do it, so I can do it." His remedies are common sense, such as shaving the hair off the face of my dog with weepy eyes. He's thorough, and doesn't push things on you that aren't necessary. I would recommend him.
My husband used this vet for years before we were married. He felt that Dr. Haas always did right by the animals, even though he didn't have the warmest personality. We took my cat in this weekend, so I had the opportunity to meet Dr. Haas. Like other reviews, it is true that he doesn't sugar coat things. He won't leave you feeling warm and fuzzy if there is something you are not doing for your animal. If you need that kind of coddling, this is not a good fit for you. However, it is VERY apparent that this vet had my cat's and the other animals' in his office's best interests in mind. He appears to care very deeply for animals. He seems to have become a bit skeptic of owners, especially new client's, but I think he's trying to gauge if this is actually an owner who cares as much as he does for the animal, or another crappy owner (which I'm sure he's seen many of over the years). I do not believe for one second that this man is in it for the money. His prices are the lowest I've seen. It is true he is adamant about yearly visits, but that's not unreasonable as a preventative measure, especially if you love your pets.
A Great Vet! He doesn't have very good people skills, but is a great vet. I'm not sure what these people are talking about "he's in it for the money." It was very reasonable. He didn't tack on a bunch of crap charges and only did what was necessary. He knew what was wrong right away and didn't do a bunch of tests for no reason. I took my puppy there and he was very thorough and cared a lot for him. He even took the time to call me a few days later to check up on him. Now what "horrible, inconsiderate" doctor would take time to call and check up on my sick puppy? A few weeks later I took my kitten there and the same thing. He made sure she had the best care. I am very happy with this vet and Recommend him to any one!
Dr. Haas does NOT care about your pet. I certainly wouldn't recommend this vet to anyone. We went there because (the only pro) he was the only vet that was still open on a holiday eve. Not only was the wait time excessive (even though there was only one other customer), but the worst part was that he took a phone call in the middle of my dog's exam (which he could have easily called back). Not only did he leave my dog on the table for 15 minutes (a 60 pound dog who he didn't even offer to help me, a 100 pound woman, to get on the table), but he also spent 10 minutes on the phone call and then proceeced to take another 10 minutes to kick back, relax and have a beverage in his office before he returned to the exam room (I had a full view of him reclining in his office chair from our exam room). This man could care less about the pets he is "caring" for. He used to be fairly cheap but he isn't even that anymore and I have nothing good to say about the care he provides. This all is not even mentioning the doctor's extremely poor bedside manner...very cold and distant. Normally I do not care about beside manner (if the vet is competent), but it became clear that Dr. Haas was not only cold and uncaring, but also incompetent. He has no empathy for either you or your pet and it is clear why he is working in the back of a pet store instead of a real veteranary clinic.
RUN AWAY FAST, THEY ARE IN IT FOR THE MONEY!!. All Dr. Money cares about is money. I brought a stray kitten that had a bloody nose. The front staff said that they would take it in and take care of it and adopt it out and find it a good home. When I brought him in they said that it is a possibility that he has feline leukemia and that puts my cat at risk if she isn't up to dates on her vaccines. They said that they would run the test and call me with the results. I called the next day and tests hadn't been run. Dr. HaASS got on the phone and told me that I couldn't have access to the test results unless I paid him for them. I told him how this kitten was a stray and not mine and how his staff told me they could take it in and get it the vet care it needed and they would adopt it out and let me know the test results. He didn't care... he said that I couldn't get test results without paying for them because he has a business to run. He was going to run the test anyway!! All he had to to was let me know the results so I would know if I needed to take my cat to the vet. My own vet would have seen this kitten for free but my vet was closed. Then he asked me why I didn't just take the kitten to DDFL?? DOESN'T CARE ABOUT ANIMALS!!
DONT GO THERE!!!!!. Please dont take your dogs to this ass we wated two hours for this jurk to show up he said why didnt you just leave your dog. After wating for him to show up for two hours and no one saying anything but he will be hear shortly this jerk showes up and said just leave him. also as we sat there for two hours the guy from the cremation company came in and grabed bags with the dead dogs in them and just tost it over the rail into the back on his truck like so much garbage, im sure if the owner of that dog know what thay where doing thay would not be happy. This guy dont care about anything and he thinks that because he is a vet he can treat you like crap. So PLEASE IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR ANAMIL DONT TAKE THEM TO THIS ASSHATT. P.S. IF THERE WAS A NEG RATE I WOULD HAVE PICKED THAT.
Dr. Haas was very rude. Made me feel like I don't care about my animals. He told me the cat didn't get socialized that I adopted there and I told him the cat was abused. When I called the previous owner , she told me the cat had been kicked and hit. Made it all about the money after adopting a cat. I took the cat and went to Dr Kevin Fitzgerald at Alameda East. He may cost more but would NEVER talk to a pet owener like Dr Haas did. Pet Palace is the Best place to go and the owners are wonderful. I would never take a pet there for any reason.
Keep going to Pet Palace for all other needs
Pet Palace has been great with all my dogs and cats over the past 15 years. I would not take then to any other Vet. at this time. Dr. Haas has alway been very
good with all my animals. And when I have had to have one put to sleep he has been very helpful and kind.
Thanks Dr. and the staff at Pet Palace.
I like this guy....
I don't know why this vet would have any bad ratings... my experience at pet palace was great, the price was right, and I really felt like my dog was well taken care of.
The only problem I had there was the wait, they've got a walk-in clinic, and I guess business is good because there's always a line of people!
If there was a _ button for stars he would be in the hole.... Rude, inconsiderate, BIG $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ motive. He is a creep. I asked to hold my dog as he was being put to sleep....the creep put the needle in BEFORE I could do that. My LAST memory is the look in my dogs eyes as I said goodbye. The doc needs a shot of personality and compassion, to say the least. NEVER step foot in that hell hole again. The ONLY good thing are his staff, all very nice and caring. And then, you are lead to the back with the doc, like a torture chamber for people.
