Tips for No 55 Salon

Michael is the BEST. Michael Joseph has been my hairstylist for 10 years now! I often walk in there and just say, "Do whatever you think looks best" and I'm NEVER disappointed!

I get so many compliments on my hair that I always have his card handy to share with others.

I wouldn't leave him for all the tea in China! :-)

Michael Joseph is a hair god. I started going to Michael Joseph 12 years ago and I keep going because he always talks to me to get an idea of how I want my hair to look and if he thinks what I am asking for might be a problem he isnt afraid to tell me. Plus he is easy on the eyes!

FAB AWESOME stylist. Michael Joseph is THE BEST EVER for a great haircut, color--whatever! I have been going to see him for 8 years and could not exist without him.

I ALWAYS get compliments on my hair & on my color--I cannot live without him! Besides he is a hunk!

CALL for an appointment ASAP--you will be forever greatful to me--

I LOVE this salon!. I absolutely love No. 55 Salon. When my stylist, Sandra Perez, (to whom I've been devoutly loyal since back in the days when she was Sandra O'Neill!) told be she was moving I could't wait to check it out. The salon itself is funky and professional, and the vibe among the stylists is the friendliest and most positive I've ever experienced. Also, they are always the first to have the next, greatest, can't-live-without-it-product lines. Stop by! They are the only high-end salon I know of that will happily take a new, walk-in client.

At Least One Bad Stylist. I don't know what the rest of the stylists are like, but stay away from Michael Joseph. By far, without a doubt, the worst haircut of my life. Hideous. He doesn't listen to you, and doesn't clear the details of his idea with you before doing it. He gave me a razor cut without asking. I only looked away for a minute and there he was, "texturizing" my plenty textured hair. Giant no-no. Not to mention my bangs were amazingly crooked--not angled, but literally one length on the right side and a longer length on the left side. I had his cut for over a month before I gave up trying to make it work and shelled out another 50 bucks to have someone else fix it. Now I'm stuck growing out something way shorter than I ever wanted.
