Good BBQ for a chain. Great food for a chain and exceptional service. Just don't order the iced tea unless... you like iced tea flavored water.

This place is awesome!. This place is so much fun! The staff has such a good time and makes this a really fun place to eat. Service is always great and they have the best ribs I have ever eaten. I am no BBQ fanatic, but this place has me hooked.

awesome ribs!. went here with a friend and my cousin and it was great. relaxed environment, good outgoing service, and the variety of sauces were fun to try. we ordered a huge platter filled with pretty much everything. the ribs were the best. the pulled pork was too salty, and the corn wasnt seasoned. but the rest was great. cornbread, which isnt really my most favorite food, was really good. moist. also had a side of rib tips... these were FULL of meat. awesome. after lunch went to the car.... forgot my card on the table... out waiter ran out with a huge smile and caught us just in time as we were leaving the parking lot!! would love to come back here

Not Just Another BBQ Joint!. I ended up in the Stapleton area and the party I was with asked me to pick a place to eat. I spotted Famous Dave's and suggested we try it. Typical ambiance of a BBQ pit type place, relaxed environment. My iced tea glass was huge and the tea was fresh! They had a choice of 6 BBQ sauces that the waitress spelled out for us on a plate (they spell BAR B Q in the different sauces for you to dip in. I know I am missing a letter, but I can't remember exactly how she did it). The variety in flavors was fantastic! My favorite was the sweet and zesty. I ordered the hickory chicken sandwich. However our waitress brought me a plain slab of grilled chicken and a plan bun. After correcting the issue, I thought the sandwich was great! The chicken was flavorful and moist and the bacon was perfectly chewy. I was also impressed with their special sweet & spicy pickles & the jalapeno mac & cheese. Overall, I was satisfied, the food was prepared well & we had a nice lunch. I am not a BBQ connoisseur, but I would visit Famous Dave's again!

This is award winning BBQ?. My wife and I decided to try out Famous Dave's BBQ after hearing good reviews online and from friends. The first thing you notice is that Famous Dave's is a traditional sit-down restaurant, not a counter service setup like most BBQ joints have. We sat in the lounge, which ended up being a huge mistake. The wait staff uses the lounge as their little "hang out", so we had to deal with a small group of cackling employees having somewhat inappropriate conversations during our meal.

We had somewhat high expectations coming into Famous Dave's. I can say without hesitation that my wife and I had some of the worst BBQ either of us have had to endure. We sampled 3 items.

First up was the brisket. Brisket seems to be a meat that is either excellent, or barely edible. Famous Dave's brisket was barely edible. The meat was very dry and lifeless with a bitter smoke flavor. The meat appeared to be over smoked. The meat was fully trimmed with none of the tasty bark. It looked and tasted terrible.

Second was the chopped pork. This was the only item that was passable in terms of appearance and taste. This meat was much more moist with a lot of char chopped up in the mix. It wasn't exceptional, but it stood out just because of how bad everything else was.

Finally, we sampled a hot link sausage. I won't beat around the bush....this was BAD. The meat was so over cooked that it was completely dry. I have never had a sausage that wasn't at least a little greasy. The presentation was terrible and the taste was no better. The mustard relish they had on the side was pretty good though.

At the end of the meal, we agreed that the best item we had was the cornbread muffin. The muffins were really good and we ordered a second muffin at the end to get the horrible meat taste out of our mouths.

Needless to say, a muffin isn't enough to get our return business.

Great BBQ. Great BBQ. Being from Texas I feel that I know BBQ and Dave's got it right. They don't take reservations, but I can understand why. They are always busy, so how could you take reservations. Check it out.

worst bbq place ever. coming from the south i have a very high standard of real bbq. the tastes of all Dave's items were bland and mediocre at best. the meat was fatty and didn't seemed cooked long enough. we ordered it to-go and when we got home realized no sauces, utensils, wipes, etc. were provided. bbq places earn their reputation with their sauces! i can blame it on the fact that it's a chain, but the sonny's bbq chain is living proof that bbq can be found in a franchise. daves gives bbq a bad name and anyone who views this as good bbq has never had the real thing.

Good barbeque. This is a good restaurant although often quite crowded, and they don't take reservations. The wait for a table can be extensive - but I guess that shows how much people like it! I'm not a huge barbeque fan but my favorite menu items are the pulled pork sandwich and the best pecan pie I've ever had. Tip: if you can get a table in the bar, you can eat in the bar, and the wait is much less. You can also purchase the sauces and rubs to use at home. I recommend this restaurant.
