DISGUSTING!!!! Does anyone who works at this place taste the food? If they do, they just don't care that they serve horrible food. Stale chips with the chips and salsa, burnt coconut shrimp, and the hamburger is obviously a frozen Costco patty. Instead of buying more movie posters they should put some money into their food.
Mary's makes money on gays.. Very over priced and rude management. Stew's daughter model is to make money on the gays as she states and boy have they. Her hubby is a bi man who has his wife believing he is straight. Seriously this is not a place gay men and woman should not go too!!
Not impressed, Sorry!. My boyfriend and I ate there recently, for the first time. Some aquaintances suggested it ; perhaps they had a different experience. First of all, it's a chain, so my expectations were low. The decor is nice. The food met my expectations.. very marginal.. just nothing special. The service we had was poor.. our server did not keep our glasses filled, and he appeared just as we were finished to ask how our food was.. this is a question that should have been asked of us shortly after the food was brought to us. Not professional. I think the main lure here could be the bar and ber specials. In short.. there are other places in town with better food, better service. We won't be back.
Really rude bartender and we got sick from the hamburger.. I don't know who's the bartender was but he was terrible. He had spiked hair and a short beard. Ruined this restaurant for us. Oh well it's a chain anyhow.
It's good half the time.... I always look forward to going here, but too often I leave wishing we had gone somewhere else. I wish they would stop hiring servers who are high and trying to get some instead of serving their customers. Good if you're looking for unattentive eye candy.
Gosh, that beer is cheap. What else matters besides cheap beer? Anywhere I can get a beer for a dollar gets five stars. I am a fan of the new and simpler menu. Seems to make service (generally quick already) even quicker.
Excellent service, average burger. Maybe I was just too excited because of all the hype. Maybe i expected more because of all that hype. I was less than impressed with the burger. Definitely cute names, lots of options. The server was excellent, she was on top of our food, our take out order we needed to place in the middle and keeping the drinks filled. Fries had a great spice on them But the burger, was just a burger. I don?t need to go again.
LOVE IT!!!. This place is great! The food is delicious (and the names for the menu items and drinks are adorable). The ambiance is outstanding, and the servers are super friendly, something that a restaurant truly needs to assure a great dining experience. Drinks (and water) were always filled, and the food came out hot. The fries are quite tasty with just the right seasoning. This place may not be for everyone, but it sure is for me. Again, I have to complement the servers. It is unquestionably worth a try. I feel it is a great addition to restaurant row.
Terrible service. I've been to this restaurant about seven times and five of those visits were terrible. Besides the decor, music and drag queen hostess being a bit over the top - the service is terrible. They never check on your food, your drink is as likely to run dry as the hamburgers and there is no concept of customer service as they try and charge you for a hamburger that's cooked wrong and takes more time to correct than your date needs time to finish his meal.
Theme restaurant. And the theme is sassy, crude and loud..
Loud Loud Loud, don't come here if you hope to have any conversation at your table. The music videos overpower any chance of that. The waitresses must yell at you to be heard.
There was ample food. Our burgers were tasty but dry, and no question there was plenty to eat as the plates were loaded up. The fries were crisp and good but the onion rings were mealy and mushy inside. Can't always trust the menu: for instance the menu states the ribs come with collard greens, but we got green beans instead. The menu is full of double-entendres. This can be cute, but don't bring your mom or your boss. In fact, if you aren't gay, you'll probably be uncomfortable.
The food is fairly inexpensive but the cost of the drinks from the bar makes up for it. Our high tab sure surprised us, since we didn't order any extras like dessert, starters or coffee. But two drinks apiece shot the bill into the stratosphere.
Like the Editorial Review says: this place has an audacious vibe. That is the nice way to put it. Before you go, check out their website at hamburgermarys (dot net) to see if you think it's a good match for you. You might have fun if it's your bag.
Service is well-meaning and friendly and they work hard, but wow is it crude and sassy. Maybe too friendly: our waitress sat at one of the chairs at our table to take our order. I guess that's good if you like that kind of thing. I don't. But that is part of their shtick.
The service style seems to be purposefully brusque to match the style of the over-the-top brassy waitress in their logo. The place is busy with a long wait, so the help can be curt as they try to push you out to turn over the tables. I guess they figure there's always another customer to replace you if you don't like it. And I don't like it. But you might. To each his own.
