Here's how the conversation pretty much went...
Manager: Welcome to Sonic. May I take your order?
Me: Do you guys still have the breakfast sandwich on Ciabatta bread? I don't see it on the menu.
Me: Okay. I would like that with sausage. But I would like the meal.
Manager: You want what with sausage.
Me: The breakfast sandwich on Ciabatta bread.
Manager: We don't have that anymore.
Me: That's why I just asked you if you still have it. Okay. Then can I just get a #14 with sausage. And can I get a Route 44 Strawberry Limeade with that?
[Long Pause, about 2 or 3 minutes]
Me: [Staring, confused at car in drive-thru behind me] Did she say anything?
Guy Behind: No. Nothing.
Manager: Hello. Did you order yet?
Me: I don't know. That's what I thought I was doing.
Manager: What can I get for you?
Me: A #14 with sausage and a Route 44 Strawberry Limeade.
Manager: Your total is $4.85 at the window.
I received my sandwich, tater-tots and a regular sized Strawberry Limeade.
Retro-outfitted servers deliver burgers, malts and sandwiches to your car at this '50s-style drive-in chain..
Founded in 1953 as a hamburger-and-root-beer stand, this nostalgic eatery is known for its intercom ordering system and roller-skating carhops. While servers rarely roller skate anymore, the famous made-to-order, all-beef burgers and thick malts are still menu favorites. Other signature items include Toaster sandwiches (made with thick Texas toast), extra-long chili and cheese hot dogs and hand-battered onion rings and tater tots. Desserts include chocolate, vanilla and strawberry shakes and fresh fruit slushes.
