New management.
We had not ordered from India Express for about a year, but decided to give it another try and were very impressed.
We eat Indian a few times a month from restaurants around the cherry creek area and this is now one of the best.
Masala and Saag have a good balance of spice and creaminess, would recommend to anyone.
New management has made a world of difference!
India express review. My son and i were stuck outside in the rain waiting on the bus, so i saw the restrautant and went in. The owner lady offered me chai to warm up and they made us feel really welcomed. It was a good first impression however the last time I ordered for delivery, the guy on the phone was kind of rude and forgot my rice and had to go back to bring it back to me. One time when I called to make a order, a voice of a little girl answered with made me nervous about sharing my cc number and placing my order. I got a bowl filled with melted icecream, the only thing i could do was put it in the fridge and wait a couple hrs for it to fridge, so that was an inconvience. all in all i like the food, but depending on who is working i get ok serive, bad service or great service... I would still recommend it though because no one is perfect.
Overpriced and Dirty, with a Staff that Makes Mistakes.
This place is terrible. Even if the decor is ok, the food and service are atrocious.
We went because we had a buy-one-get-one free deal from the Entertainment book. It didn't make a difference because the waitress didn't actully give us the full deal. Instead, she just deducted $10 from the bill after tax even though the book said the value of the free meal was up to $15 and we ordered two dishes that were $11 and $13 each.
We sat down at a table that still had rice on it from a previous dinner and started out with one Diet Coke and two bowls of mulligitawny soup. The soup was more like dal and included chicken. It was blazing hot to the point of being inedible for quite a while. The waitress did bring pappadums, too, but the sauces she brought with them were in horribly dirty containers.
I ordered mushroom lamb while my boyfriend ordered chicken tikka masala. Right before the main course arrived, a different waiter told me that they didn't have any mushrooms in stock; so, I asked that I get the same dish with the remaining vegetables listed inlcuding onions and peas. Shortly after that conversation, my lamb in sauce with no vegetables except for a tomato garnish arrived. When my boyfriend started to eat his dish, he realized that instead of chicken he got beef, though the waiter claimed it was lamb. In any case, it was the wrong meat and my lamb and my boyfriend's "lamb" weren't the same.
Though the waiter offered to have the cooks remake the chicken dish, we opted to forgo waiting again, especially since we didn't expect much better food the second time around.
When we got our check we had to remind the waitiress to include the discount; so, for two soups listed at $3.50 each, two meat dishes at a total of $24, and a Diet Coke, with $10 off discount (even though it was incorrect), we paid about $27 before the tip. All I can think is that Diet Coke is really expensive here, too--it must be about $5 for a soda.
I will never go back to this place, and based on the lack of customers while we were there, not many other people are returning either.
worst food you cab have.
old food is served and food is not rep of indian cuisuine, food is made by poor mexicans in the kitchen if you order meat, you will be sick for days, like my family was, "i called the rest, to tell them andthe owner lady was quick onthe defense before i could even give her the specifics.
If you like indian food you need to look for places in LA, NY
Rude!. I just ate here with my friend last week and they treated us like dirt! We came in the afternoon for the buffet and I should have held the hunger. The food was bland and all I could taste was cream and spices that didn't please, but instead left a horrible after taste. The daal was really watery, and very inconsistent in its textures. Rice was sticky and not like rices at other place. Will not be back, and will avert my friends from here.
Horrible cannot begin to describe this place.. I was heading back home from Cherry Creek the other day, an encountered this restaurant while stuck in traffic. Hungry as I was, I thought about giving this place a try. The food was absolutely atrocious! The food was definitely going to kill me, there was enough cream to last me a week. The naan was stale, most likely mass made and stored to serve customers for their convenience. I've eaten at many Indian restaurants for the past fifteen years here in Denver, and this is by far the worst. India's Restaurant and other local ones beat this restaurant by a landslide with their quality of food, excellent ambience, and favorable service. Will I eat here again? Not if I wanted food poisoning the next morning.
Excellent food and service. Good value for money.. I have eaten Indian food all around the world. I grew up on curry dishes and love the authentic Indian taste. My wife and I had a great meal at India Express in a relaxed quiet atmosphere. The chef even came out from the kitchen and talked with us, as did the owner, so we were quiet impressed. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone; families with children during the day could use the buffet, and it would make for a lovely romantic cost effective evening for two any evening of the week.
Good, no frills Indian restaurant.
If you just need a curry, and don't want to feel out place in a T-shirt, this is the place to go.
The service is attentive, the food is good if not great, and the price is reasonable. Dinner entree + naan + beer will cost you ~$20 + tip.
The atmosphere is American casual, with a few Indian trinkets and a mural of the Mediterranean Sea from the restaurant's previous incarnation. Not the dark, exotic den or the immersive experience you get in a lot of Indian places, but nice for a quick bite.
Awesome Indian Buffet.
This place has the best butter chicken in the whole world. Though the restaurant is in a strip mall kind of setting, the atmosphere inside is really quite nice. The proprietors and their staff are very friendly. The chai is absolutely delicious.
If you're looking for a romantic or high-end kind of place, this may not be it, but for a delicious meal, perfectly seasoned and succulent, at a reasonable price, look no further.
