Run Away! Smiles, idle chatter, and
bottles of water are a ruse and you will pay a high price when you run in to a problem. I had done business with Watsonâ??s & Co and bought for years thinking I knew whom I was dealing with until my last purchase of a very expensive custom bed for one of my design clients. This bed turned out to be one of the worst experiences I have had with a custom piece of furniture and its product representative. Prior to this purchase I was guilty of buying merchandise, paying promptly, introducing customers to Watsonâ??s, never returning or asking for credit on a single piece of merchandise. In return, when I found a problem with the bed, the owner of the store subjected me to a 20-minute yelling tantrum over the phone. He yelled even louder every time I tried to speak and present my side of the situation. He was not interested in a word I had to say. As a customer posted here before me has commented, I was reminded that he didnâ??t need customers like me. So if I ever recommended this store to anyone reading this please forgive me. I am a person who has spent thousands of dollars at the store and I go out of the way to support local business. If I am treated in this fashion think how you will be treated if you have a problem or upset management. Without going into tons of details I can assure you that I had a legitimate complaint with the bed. My clients and many people within my industry could not believe that I wasnâ??t taken seriously and those who know my business ethic were shocked at the treatment.
There are many fine establishments that carry like and better merchandise and are very competitive in this town and on the web who need customers like you and me and know how important we all are. Search out these businesses or talk to a designer: yes, most designers would love to help you buy things at the design center or introduce you to sources you may not even realize are available. If you can afford Watsonâ??s you can afford the design center and most likely get some creative professional advise to boot. My advice, avoid this store and shop with people that appreciate you and your hard earned money.
