Dishonest, Poor Service, Patronizing Rude Workers. I'm writing this review to let everyone know the unsavory practices that Ameristar engages in. It isn't their benefits they offer it is how they engage in lying and hiding things while saying they are giving you something. It is because they are so dishonest. I'm talking about the Ameristar resort in Black Hawk, CO. in particular. We went there with a group of people and since we had never been there before we all signed up for player's cards. We signed up at two different windows with two different workers. We were all told that if we got 25 points we would get a free buffet for signing up. We all went and made sure we all had 25 points. When we wanted to redeem for our buffet I went to a Player's Club desk and talked to a very patronizing, snooty black man. I don't know his name but he had a foreign accent. He was very rude in informing me that bonus points didn't count. I told him nobody had let us know. They said points. They didn't tell us there were two types of points. Then I asked how you could tell the difference between the points. He said we had to go to the desk and he would tell us how many “real” points we had.

The point is, it was a scam. It would have been different if we hadn't been promised something and then had it taken away. If they hadn't offered us any incentive we would have been perfectly happy. If the “real” and the “fake” points had been explained to us we would have been happy. We all spent more money than we intended to to earn the “points” thinking it was worth it because in the end we would get dinner. The part that bothered all of us was the dishonesty engaged in by the casino to trick people into spending more money. We would have all saved money just buying the buffet. You would have to spend at least $100.00 to earn the “real” points and receive the “free” buffet. I just wanted to let everyone know so that you don't fall for the same trick. After all, it's not like Ameristar was going to be honest with you!

AmeriStar Spa. We experienced a massage and a facial while visiting Ameristar casino. It was one of my best facials ever. I have been to many resorts and nothing compared to this. The spa was beyond my expectation. If it was closer, I would return monthly.

Nice room but don't leave anything behind.. The room was nice the service was good. But we forgot my wife's iPod touch in the room when we checked out. Called the next day and it had not been turned in. I would expect when you tout yourself as a luxury hotel that I should have a reasonable expectation of having anything I mistakenly left in the room to be returned to me. My 39 dollar special became a 339 dollar a night stay.
