SLOW SLOW SLOW.
A colleage and I went for lunch, the service was slow. First to get our drinks then to taking our order and then the kitchen. We waited almost an hour not noticing because we were catching up. When we asked we got OOOO you havent received your order let me check. Another 15-20 mins finally our food arrives. it was tasty.
So thinking it was a fluke I sent my boss, out of town guests and other coworkers for dinner this week. They arrive to find the reservation I had made the week before didn't exist but didnt matter because they were the only people in the place. (8 of them) once again the service from the kitchen I am guessing was SLOW. Again took over an hour to get their food and the menu is not extensive or complicated. I doubt it will be open much longer by the looks of the crowds or lack of them. Maybe if you sit at the bar so the kitchen help can see you it MIGHT make a difference.
awesome place. Table mesa rocks! me and a few friends from work decided to try this resturaunt, immedeatley after we walked in we were greeted by a friendly host who took us to a table on the patio which is also amazing. this guy chris was his name he told us about the history of this resturaunt and was very knowledgeable about the food. my two friends ordered ceviche and sea bass and i had the ribeye steak, the whole experiance was awesome and i highly reccomend this place to everyone. kudos to chris
Mother's Day Spetacular!. I took my parents to Table Mesa for Mother's day.. This place surpised me. From the outside, this place looks very ordinary, after we entered inside we've noticed a really nice decorated restaurant. We were greeted by a polite hostess, whom led us to one of the booths. We thought this place was going to be really expensive at first, upon looking at the menu we've noticed that the prices aren't that bad at all! (A trip to PF Chang's or Chesse Cake factory costed more..) We then proceed to order couple appetizers and drinks.. by the way the topshelf margaritas are wonderful! Then we ordered an order of fajita, enchilada, salmon dish, and seafood paella... all of them were excellent, especially the seafood paella.. it was better than what I had in Spain! Go figure!.. All in all it was an excellent experience, very nice restaurant indeed!
Excellent food and impeccable service!. This past weekend, some friends and I met at Table Mesa for our ladies night get together. This place is great! We ordered some margaritas and mojitoes, they were excellent. Our server was very attentive to our needs and she suggested that we try the fajitas and the seabass dish. Which we ordered, we also got beef enchilada, grilled fish tacos, and the duck dish.. everything was just excellent. The place is beautifully decorated and has a great ambiance for get togethers, it is not as pretentious as Tamayo, and much nicer than champps, or buca di beppo next door. This place is now our favorites! For anyone that likes to enjoy great food, friendly service and have a place with great ambiance needs to check this place out!
Keep driving. Wow.....what a complete waste of restaurant space! I work nearby this restaurant and was excited to try a new mex joint, unfortunately my excitement was very short lived. My take on this place is that it's way overpriced for the quality-lacking food they serve, I think they are trying way too hard to turn Mexican food into some high end dining experience. I had a lunch order of enchiladas for about $14.00 and it was delivered with some funky chocolate mole sauce that the menu neglected to mention "big thumbs down". I think they may give Casa Bonita's a run for their money, but if you are looking for good Mexican, drive right on past this place! The only positive........the service was pretty good and the staff was real friendly!
Da bomb!. We went to Table Mesa to chill, this place is da bomb... we had a great time, the bartender guy was cool, hooked us up with shots.. it's cool place to chill.. me and my boys are coming again this weekend to hangout... rock on!!!!
Great Margaritas and Happy Hours...
My husband and some friends got together at Table Mesa this past Friday, we got thre around 5:40pm ish and was just in time to catch happy hours, I got their house wine for only $3 a glass, my husband got the margarita which was really good!
We ended up ordering the fajitas, salmon, burritos, and nachos... everything was good. Our waiter was quite friendly and constantly checking up on us, I was just reading some of the reviews people left regarding the service, which was pretty interesting, because we didn't face that problem. Also our bill was around $85 for 4 people with drinks, not sure what people were ordering. Then, again, I always check the prices before I order my meal.
Anyways, to be fair I thought the place was pretty good, especially their top shelf margarita. Although it was my husband drink, but I drank most of it. I liked Table Mesa for their food, margarita, and would definitely return for more.
Needs serious work on Service.
My wife and I met a couple-friend and their 2 children for dinner at Table Mesa on 4/25/2008. When we arrived, we stood waiting for about 2 minutes while the hostess and an employee were in a conversation. Neither acknowledge we were there. A courtesy "I will be with you in just a moment" would have changed my initial impression. I finally saw my friends seated so we sat ourselves.
Our waitress was fairly prompt in asking for a drink order. As we enjoyed our drinks, we reviewed the menu and this is where it started getting bad.
We started our group dining with the queso/chips and chips/salsa selections. The queso was delivered first, with enough chips for 2 people at most. We asked for another order, which we never received.
My wife and I then ordered the tortilla soup. When it arrived, it was watered down with hardly any taste. No spoons came with it so we had to ask for them. When the spoons arrived, they were the smallest I'd ever seen, and mine had the end of it ground up from the garbage disposal. It was like eating soup with a thimble
My friend ordered the seafood burrito. After about 10 minutes the waitress came to the table and said they don't have a seafood burrito. She rattled off what they do have, including the Burrito del Mar. Del Mar in Spanish means "from the sea"!
The kid?s meals were delivered with no spoons. We had to ask twice to get them.
My wife and I ordered tapas, which were horrible. We've eaten tapas at the 9th Door downtown which are as good as they get. We decided to start drinking more to numb the experience. Our drink order sat at the bar for at least 15 minutes (I could see the drinks!), and the place was only 20% full!
Our total bill was $180.00 (we should have drank even more to numb this surprise).
We would not go back to Table Mesa even if we had certificates for free dinners. If they are open through the summer I will be shocked. Bad service, bad food, and high prices.
Really Nice Dinning Place.
A group of us was looking for places to celebrate family birthday, we didn't want any chain restaurants so we decided on Table Mesa. Soon as we walked in we noticed a beautiful restaurant with great atmosphere! We were greeted by a nice host who showed us to a table that is near the windows.
Immediately we orderer the margritas and mojitoes, man they were yummy! It was really good! then we ordered the appetizers and soups.. Didn't really care for the black bean soup.. I thought it was bland, but the appetizer was awesome!! especially the empanadas!
Main course we had the seabass, salmon, and fajitas.. they were out of this world! Especially the seabass! my girlfriend didn't care fore seafood, she tried a small bite she even commented on how great the seabass was. After the meal couple of us ordered some desserts, which were very good.
Overall it is a great place with great food, I would highly recommend this joint to people who wants to try something that is more than just your typical chain restaurants! I would be there after work everyday just for their margaritas!
Really disappointing. My husband and I recently tried Table Mesa for the first time. When we went inside we noticed that it was not very crowded (on a Sat. night) but we had to wait around for a few minutes before someone greeted us. After we were seated it took a long time to get water and even longer to place our order. We thought the menu was way overpriced and a little uninspired so we decided to just order drinks and appetizers. We ordered the chorizo quesadilla and nachos. After an eternity our waitress brought our order, but brought queso fundido instead of nachos. She said she would fix the mistake and put a rush on the nachos, so we scarfed down the quesadilla. It had very lttle chorizo in it, and I don't think it was really chorizo anyway, although I'm not sure what it was. Finally our nachos arrived and we sat in stunned silence. The menu claims that the nachos come with queso oaxaca, salsa, sour cream, guacamole, black beans and a choice of chicken or pork. Ours had pork, sour cream, a few chunks of chopped tomato and some runny yellow cheese that looked like Cheez Whiz. Queso oaxaca is a white Mexican cheese, this was definitely not that. We informed our waitress of our dissatisfaction and another waitress came over. Both seemed to not know what was supposed to come on the nachos. One of the waitresses was also clad a little too scantily for someone who handles my food. We asked to speak to the manager, who was nice but made excuses and blamed the waitress, and we left with the nachos and our drinks taken off the bill. We are by no means picky eaters and this is the first time we have ever complained to the manager. The food and service truly sucked. The place has potential-I loved the classic salsa songs they were playing and the inside was decorated nicely. We, however, will not be going back.
