I have lived in Chicago a long time and
now live in Denver. I have been to many different Chicago Style places like Woody's. Woody's Chicago Style is by far the best that it gets in duplicating Maxwell street in Chicago. The atmosphere might not hit it spot on but the food definitely does. Chicago is full of a-holes and im glad to see that Woody's does not follow that path. They provided the best service above all the other Chicago style places. All other places do not come anywhere close to the quality and great taste you will receive at Woody's!!!!! Portillos is my spot and Woodys is catching up fast!
They have all the chicago favorites that vienna provides.. italian beef, Italian fontanini sausages, hot pastrami, smoked brisket, roast beef, gonella rolls, onion rings, FRIES!!!!!!!, Chicago dogs, even turkey tuna and chicken or regular salads!
They are open from 10:30-8 mon-sat and 11-8 sun so get down there!!!

Not Really Chicago Style.
Being from Chicago and missing the food of my native land greatly, I had to go to Woody's to check out the Italian beef sandwiches that I miss so much. I have tried several other places and since the best place I have found so far is in Longmont (which is pretty far drive the Denver metro area) I had high hopes.
I do not know about the hot dogs, but I can tell you that the Italian beefs are not good at all. It really seems like whoever runs this place has never even been to Chicago and experienced authentic Chicago fare.
The gravy was more salty than flavorful. They only cook a sandwich worth of meat at one time for only a few minutes so the beef does not get to cook slowly and soak up all the italian seasonings.
I was even offered swiss, american or provolone cheese to go on it. That is just not right.
The perfect italian beef consists of a mound of thinly sliced roast beef, slowly cooked in italian seasoned au jus (AKA gravy) atop a toasty Gonella roll with some hot giardinara or roasted green peppers with a sprinkling of shredded mozzerella if you desire cheese.
I would not discourage anyone from trying out other items from there. It was a clean place with friendly service...they just have a real bad Italian beef sandwich.
