Great food, but not so great for kids.. Even though I don't think it's the best sushi in town, it's pretty darn good. The restaurant itself has a nice upscale atmosphere and they even have a private dining room for parties. We had friends meet us there for my birthday and there were 17 of us. It was great because there was room to walk around and socialize and although the table was large enough to accomodate us all, it still felt intimate. Their non-sushi menu is also quite good. I highly recommend the crispy honey shrimp-it's amazing. I wouldn't recommend this place for kids because even though the service is good, dinner can take up to 3 hours if it's at all busy.

Average sushi, good service. My mother has worked at the hospital down the street from John Holly's my whole life, and when she told me she was actually enjoying Sushi somewhere I thought this must be good food. The service was very nice, our server explained that the toro they had received was not the best quality, and so they offered us a free appetizer to accompany the meal. The food was generally average and I would probably have visited again had I not ordered dessert. I hope that this was a mistake, but our Mochi ice cream came to the table drizzled in sweet soy (Unagi sauce) and it was absolutely awful. The sushi was a little over priced for the quality, and despite excellent service I will probably not be enjoying John Holly's again.

Excellent sushi - top notch!. The first time I went to John Holly's was with some friends who took me there for a birthday dinner and I LOVED IT!! My friend is a regular there and the whole staff knows her name when she walks in. I've been back several times since then. The atmosphere is a little loud and busy, but it's all upbeat and the staff is very friendly. The food has always been amazing and affordable. I would recommend ordering the "Alix" roll, it's not on the regular menu and I'm not sure even what's in it, but it's fantastic! This is my favorite sushi place in Denver, hands down!
