Fabuolous Food and Service.
My wife and I have eaten at Kinga's twice. First time was on a Tuesday just after they opened. The service and food was excellent.. My wife is from Western Ukraine (Poland before 1939). She had the Pierogis and I Polish Meat balls (Kotlety mielone). Both were excellent.
The second time were took 2 friends and ate in dining room. Again the service and food was very good. We were somewhat worried as both of our guests had lived overseas many years.
What to be aware of:
1. On Tuesday we ate early and ate in bar area. The music was beyond terrible. We could have gone to dining room but staff was limited.
2. If you wish wine the choice is very very limited. If you wish vodka or beer your choices are excellent.
3. If you need handicapped parking or close parking it is on Colfax and very limited. Since we live within walking distance it was worry when had our guests but found place in front. Parking is very limited.
Overall this is a local gem. The cost per person with drinks can easily be under $15. The quality, quantity, and presentation is excellent. This is well worth a visit, we recommend several.
Na zdrowie!. Being of Polish descent, I always enjoy a foray to any Polish eatery and the chance to use my Polish speaking skills. I've been to Kinga's twice now and have to say that the pierogi, selection of Polish beers, friendly waitstaff and especially the availability of Zubruwka are all big draws! The only negatives might be the odd, sometimes rowdy crowd whose interest in the place baffles me. The menu is varied and strange but do try the Polish offerings. They are authentic and delicious. Steer clear of the patio- people smoke in defiance of the rules.
