Que horrible. The service was mediocre at best, and horrible at its worst. We were ignored for over half an hour and then the management refused to comp any part of our bill. If you want any resemblance of customer service, please don't go to Chile Rojo.

Overzealous with salt. Or msg??. First visit ever, ordered take out breakfast- Machaca and Huevos Rancheros with the corn tortillas. SMELLED delicious in my car. Opened up my boxes to a sloppy mess of the rancheros which i expected in my 5 block take home car ride, yet it probably wouldnt have looked much better on a plate, as it looked like brown slop. Upon taking the first bite, my face scrunched up due to the extreme saltiness which seemed to permeate every bite. Im not at all a picky eater, I have eaten some serious slop and made no beef about it. But after trying the Machaca thinking that it wouldnt taste as salty (i assumed the rancheros were salty due to the barbacoa and the slop sauce that drenched everything), i literally started crying. I spent $20 on 2 avg size meals and took 3 bites total while my boyfriend maybe ate one tortilla full of the Machaca mixture, stating that he also thought all of it was ridiculously salty, and possibly tasted like MSG. The tortillas were awful as well, very rubbery and almost tasteless. I hesitated to write this as the local family staff was warm and friendly, and the overall appearance was very quaint and inviting. I will give it one more try but this was hands down the biggest disappointment I have had with Mexican breakfast food since I have moved to Denver (and i have consumed a lot of Mexi-breakfasts in a year an a half). I expected better from the up and coming hip Santa Fe Art District.
