A wonderful surprise and tasty too – Wandered into Kiva around nine P.M. on a Saturday, having struck out at two other restaurants before to be greeted by surprisingly modern, southwestern-flavored decor. It was not very busy and four of us were seated promptly. Despite the lack of other customers, service was slightly on the slow side, but easily understandable near close on a weekend night. The food is affordable (around $7-10 per entree) and flavored well. Our party sampled the barbacoa (extremely tender, spiced well), the salmon (large portions, the aioli was a winner), the tacos (small, plenty of them, and well-regarded), as well as the steak fajitas (a classic dish pretty much well-received anywhere). We returned for brunch the next day. The raspberry mimosas were fantastic and the coconut lime margaritas weren't bad either -- especially for $2 each. The raspberry waffles were well-cooked, served with two on a plate and a side of a meat of your choice. The waiter was hilarious and kept us entertained throughout the meal, as well as providing attentive service. Can't wait to go back!
Best "mexican" – Kiva has quickly become our favorite mexican restaurant. This is gourmet mexican food! Happy hour is well worth it. I believe it is from 4-7pm(?) You can enjoy a free taco bar and $2 kivaritas (blue margaritas) in the bar area. Or enjoy the happy hour drink specials over dinner in the dining room--highly recommended. I can't say the kivaritas are the best margaritas, but they are $2. It's the food that steals the show here. Plus, in the dining room, answer the trivia question of the day correctly and they treat you to dessert! The "crema" dessert is excellent. Highly recommend the pork stuffed chili relleno as well.
HAPPY HOUR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! – an undiscovered gem! We went for happy hour, $2 for great drinks, beer and wine and they fed us too!!!! Free taco bar! We went on Friday night and the bar was packed. They also have a a great menu, awesome food, i had the chile burger it was very tasty with awesome southwest french fries. Everyone has to check this place out!
Best Lunch In Town – This is a great place to have lunch on your break! Me and my co-workers from the city, decided to come down and experience their new lunch menu! The chicken sandwich was spectacular! We were in and out in plenty of time and my friend said that the Cobb Salad was definately one not to miss. Southwest fusion is much better then greasy mexican food! I will be back to try their magaritas, happy hour, and Sunday Brunch!
Best Fajitas I've Ever Had!!! – Oh my god, this place is amazing. We had the best time. I can honestly say they had the best fajitas I have ever had. Huge servings of chicken and steak, with fresh guacamole, sour cream, warm tortillas, rice/beans, and this unique roasted cactus you have to try it! The service was great, very attentive and friendly. It's a huge restaurant with private rooms that we liked so much were renting out the 3rd floor for our company christmas party. I highly recomend this restaurant, you won't be disappointed i promise!
Awesome patios and margaritas! – Kiva makes the best Pomegranate Margarita I've had anywhere, and has awesome patios to enjoy them on after work! Definitely check this place out! Great servers too!
