Aspen Grill Is No Longer Here, Its Now Willow Creek.
Used to be called Aspen Grill but was bought by a young couple who have done wonders to Improve!
Try it and I gurantee you will be blown away by the food the ambiance and the service. Hands down the best food Evergreen has ever seen!
Still the Best Resturant in Town. We've dined in this place over the years through the past three ownerships, and never have a had a bad meal, bad service or any disappointments. A truly enjoyable experience...this is what Evergreen is all about!
The negatives reviews are wrong!!!. For evergreen, this is a fantastic place to soak in the mountains with great(not just good) food. The staff IS attentive and the really go out of their way to make you feel at home. The owners worked the room and made sure that all of the diners wishes were meet. My wife and I wanted a a great date night and what we got was a place we will frequent often. The food is amazing, the location is amazing and the vibe is amazing. I recommend a diner at Willow Creek.
We were very disappointed in this restaurant. We were heading over to the lake house for a Christmas celebration after dinner and thought this was a perfect location. We had been there under the previous restaurants, which we enjoyed, and thought we would give this one a try.
Unfortunately, our expectations for a great evening with friends, quickly disappeared. The table for 4 was so small that we couldn't fit our dinner/bread plates and water and wine glasses on the the tabletop all together. We had to put our water glasses on the window sill just so we could have enough room for our dinner and bread plates. The light was so bad that we couldn't see the menu, so they brought us a flashlight. The service was non-existent and when we asked to move to a bigger table that was open, they said, "no, that one is reserved". (Although no one ever showed up to occupy it). The food was so-so and the prices outrageous.
I agree with the previous post, the view is very nice so I'll give this restaurant a 1 star.
I'm sure this restaurant will be out of business very soon.
Unapproachable Menu with Pretentious staff.
After reading all the positive reviews regarding this place - I'm disappointed that we didn't have the great experience everybody else did.
We visited Colorado for our honeymoon, and stumbled on the Willow Creek restaurant for one of our evening dinners. What a dissapointment. I can honestly say - it was the worst dinner we've ever had together.
The one thing they had going for them was an incredible view. That's where the one-star comes in.
The staff was both amatuer and pretentious - a disasterous combination. They were not knowledgeable regarding questions we had on the (unapproachable) menu. We felt more like a bother, than a welcomed customer. With the prices on the menu - I expected impeccable service. We didn't even get mediocre service.
We ordered the flank steak, and rabbit pasta. The steak was tough and over seasoned - the sides were under-cooked. The pasta was, well - soup. Not at all what I expected. The seasonings didn't blend well, there was no balance to it - it just didn't have good flavor. The veggie's here too - were undercooked. I quit eating it after crunching down on a bone. The salad we ordered to begin our meals, arrived after our entrees. After having to ask for bread after our entrees arrived - they tried to whisk it away as quickly as it arrived. We thought we'd try dessert- but they were sold out of the selections we wanted to order. We left extremely disappointed.
BEST RESTARAUNT IN EVERGREEN!!!.
By far the absolute best restaraunt in Evergreen! The view is AMAZING!! the service is WONDERFUl!! & the food gets FIVE STARS!! The restaraunt overlooks the beautiful lake in evergreen! It has great patio seating that is perfect for any occation! And if you choose to sit inside you definately don't loose the view with the wall of window seating! The inside of the restaraunt is gorgeous! The bar is beautiful and the wine cooler adds a beautiful touch! Our service was great! The server was exceptionally friendly and informative! We even had the owner come to the table and ask how everything was! She was good humored and just absolutely wonderful! The food was some of the best I have had in a really long time! My entire family enjoyed every bite! It is definately a restaraunt worth trying!
By far the Best Restaurant in Evergreen!.
Finally!!! A quality dining experience to match the incredible location overlooking Lake Evergreen! After 11 years of living and dining out in Evergreen, my wife and I have finally found our home-base restaurant with the newly opened Willow Creek. We were hesitant to give it a try, following a very disappointing decline in the quality of the food with the previous owner, but are thrilled we did.
The food is simply outstanding -- the entire menu is top-notch -- and it's clear that the husband/wife team who have taken over have invested in the quality of their service staff. I personally highly recommend the scallop lasagnette (unbelievable!), the halibut and the sausage pasta dish. The beet salad is also incredible!
I wouldn't trust any review of this place that is anything less than positive.
We dine out 3-4 times a week and have found it difficult over the past decade to find any consistency in either cuisine or service over the long-term in Evergreen. So far, we are ecstatic with Willow Creek -- keep up the good work folks, Evergreen has been a long time waiting for you!
Amazing Evergreen Restaurant. Dear Chris... First of all...as this restaurant doesnt have linens so I question if you were even actually at the restaurant... We eat here 3-4 times per week and havent paid more than 21.00 dollars for an entree, looked tonight and couldnt find anything over 27.00 ( and that was for Halibut that was flown in from Alaska overnight~). Not sure what restaurant you are eating at but this restaurant just opened on Easter, the food is amazing, service was great and the resaturant is far from dirty. It is the best place to dine in Evergreen, if not in all of Colorado.
Not Recommended. I arrived to a table cloth that was dirty and had food stuck on the side by my seat. I knew we should have left then. I payed $30 for a very small portion. I left feeling hungry and robbed. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
DATE NIGHT MUST! New Owner/New Restaurant!!!.
I have been in the restaurant business for over 10 years. I know a good deal when I see one. My husband & I heard about the calamari at the new Aspen Grill (previously the Wine Bar) and thought we'd try it out. We were AMAZED by the beautiful menu and the delicious concoctions coming from the kitchen at Aspen Grill.
The food was delicious and left us craving more (and me - I wanted recipes please!!!), the service was polite and friendly, very attentive and the ambiance was just what we were looking for -- not too stuffy but not overrun with loud music or children (sorry parents - but it makes for a wonderful adult night out!). The deals on wine were wonderful and the manager really knew his wine and made a wonderful recommendation. Try the nightly specials -- they are to-die-for.
We will be back!!!
