I have absolutely no coordination and no background in dancing, and this is the MOST fun I have had working out ever! Don't get me wrong, 2-hour pole classes are seriously an intense workout but the time flies by so quickly. I cannot believe how sore my muscles are for days to follow, but I must say that I look forward to dancing with my Monday class - which is my fav night of the week! Comfy environment, vibe, and people!!!
A "Must Try!".
With little experience (4-5 classes max) I enrolled in the Tuesday evening Level I-II class. The level of instruction and caliber of women at this studio are incomparable. The two hour class flew by as did the initial doubts that I had before we started. Lauri does a tremendous job making sure everyone's needs in class are responded to, and the community is so welcoming and comfortable to join. All of the technical questions I had coming in were answered. (I had taken a series of crowded classes elsewhere through Group-On - where hardly any of the moves were demonstrated or broken down.)
At the end of class, there was another class starting. Again, all of the women coming in to dance were upbeat and friendly.
I signed up to join the class that I started with this past week and I cannot wait for my next session.
My experience at this studio is much more consistent with what Oprah and several other shows have covered on pole dancing for confidence.
A studio like no other!. This studio is so uplifting! I am not a dancer, but with the care these instructors provide everyone becomes one.
Blown away!. I was hesitant to come in to a first time class since I have not worked out in years and I have never considered myself to be coordinated in any way. To my surprise, I felt immediately comfortable. For one, the women in class range in age. The class that I took was small, and I liked the personal attention the other women and I received. And what a great workout! I was sore for days and have been since signing up.
We booked a bachelorette pole class. My sister and friends planned a bachelorette pole dance party for me on Saturday. Literally four days later, I am still sore from this workout. Not only is this studio high class but this workout was much different than expected - in a good way. (You never know what to expect when you talk about, "pole dancing," right?!) After our experience, I can see how pole dancing is such a great workout. Lauri's demonstration for all of us was indescribable - something you have to witness for yourself. Overall, our experience was superb. We had a ton of fun and actually got a workout in before our evening of drunken debauchery. Very memorable!
Spiritually based pole dancing. I came to Tranzendance in search of a new way to exercise. I had no idea that these classes would reconnect me to a greater sense of myself, as well as a wonderful community.
Superior technical assistance. Years ago when there were fewer pole dance options in Denver I took a series of classes at another studio where I quickly became discouraged. I am happy that I gave pole dancing one more try and at this studio since the quality and level of technical instruction has made the difference in what I have been able to do on the dance floor.
Therapeutic. I have struggled with an eating disorder and body image issues all of my life. The staff and community at this studio have done more to heal these issues and to make me feel better about myself as a woman. I cannot thank the owner, teachers, and friends I have made here enough for all of their encouragement and support.
horrible shocking experience.
i began taking classes several months ago and was moving along with my dancing, although very slowly. i have been dancing my entire life and am aware of my technique, body alignment & strength. i felt very held back in these classes as my class was always very full of beginners and i wasn't allowed to perfect the exercises i was working on and definitely wasn't moving on with anything.
i was just recently offered by the owner a chance to move up in level, which i happily accepted - only to get a call several days later telling me that i was no longer WELCOME at the studio due to the fact that i wanted to move up in level! several of my other fellow classmates had left the studio because of the same reason.....but i'm still shocked at this business and customer service practice. i'll be investigating some other pole dance options around denver - no one needs to be treated in this way as a client of a business.
Prior to enrollment, we meet with each student to review our studio's policies for participant safety. We also handout the curriculum for Level I so that new students will know what to expect their initial 3-4 months. (We teach eight levels at the studio and currently have 72 students who dance in Levels 1 - 6 with us each week.) We do our best to provide information about the necessary conditioning and training that is required to safely execute all pole moves. Against our own profit interests, we prefer to release someone who continues to break basic safety instructions than to keep him/her in classes at the studio. Our staff vehemently believes that no student should ever walk away with anything more than a couple bruises from any pole dancing activity.
I am addicted!. I have been a student at Tranzendance for 2 months now. I had taken at three other studios and had given up with the idea that professional classes would be offered anytime soon in Colorado. At this studio, I finally get what this movement is all about for women. Pole dancing is not about turning someone else in your life "on," but about turning your whole body, mind, and soul "on." This studio gets this concept! Also it is assuring to take classes from someone who can teach the physics of pole work. For women who become addicted to pole dancing--who want to practice all the time (like me), it is really important to learn the right form so that you do not get injured. Taking classes from a professional dancer and someone who knows what they are doing makes all the difference. I highly highly recommend Tranzendance in Denver!!!
