Just tried Altitude out for the first time-- I was looking for a new stylist because my old one kept jacking up her prices and was in an inconvenient location. I took a couple of risks: it was my first time having my hair professionally colored and as for the cut, I just told Laura to do pretty much what she wanted with it. And I have to say, I'm VERY pleased. I wanted my hair pretty much black (whereas I am normally a dark brunette), and she did the color really well so that it looks substantially darker but not unnatural. And the cut is fantastic. It's sleek and trendy, but she didn't use a crap-ton of products that would make it unreasonable to style in the morning. Finally, I didn't feel pressured to buy any kind of products or services, and they honored the online coupon. (I even felt a little bad because it was SUCH a good deal on a cut and color). I would definitely recommend Altitude.

I just moved to the area and found Altitude Salon through others recommendations on this site and others. I saw Laura today, she was not only down to earth and easy to talk to, but she did an amazing job on my hair. I really love my hair, my highlights and lowlights blend great together and I got the more natural look I was going for! I would highly recommend Laura and Altitude to you!! Also have to mention the awesome 50% off coupon for first timers =) I'll gladly pay full price next time

I have been to many stylists in my lifetime and I must say that I have found my home with Meaghan. I am thrilled with my highlights every appointment. Meaghan runs a fantastic salon and is very attentive to my preferences as well as all her clients. You will enjoy the fun vibe and urban decor of the Altitude Salon experience. Meredith

Fun, great value, and great service! This suburban salon has a very urban attitude. Altitude is easily one of the best values in the west Denver area. I was introduced to this salon by my sweetheart 3 years ago and have enjoyed coming for men's haircuts ever since. And the crazy thing is, you will pay much less here than in one of Denver's pricier neighborhood, for the same or better service. Wow!

My family has been a client of Altitude Salon for 4 years now and we couldn't be happier with the salon and the service provided. The atmosphere at Altitude is comfortable and friendly and has a hip vibe. I love the fact I can make appointments for any of my family members online and change them easily if needed without even contacting the salon. The stylists always listen to what our needs are and make changes accordingly to how we like our hair cut. They are open to suggestions and treat us with respect. They are knowledgeable about their profession, and it shows in our haircuts. All in all, Altitude Salon is a fantastic, affordable, family-friendly salon that's perfect for anyone looking for a professional, trendy hairstyle and color job.

Hmmmmm? I am not at all sure what CATF738 saw at this salon...or where she's been before but I was there a week ago for the first time and saw Laura. The salon is clean (must not have noticed the tears in the chair) and was offended by nothing! I am not tall and did not have to climb up anything to get washed! Laura did all over color and highlights and of course I walked out with a few stains on my hairline.....doesn't that ALWAYS happen? And she cut my hair exactly the way I wanted it!! I will be back! This is not a cherry creek salon (thank God)...nor are the prices (thank God).....pretty sure snobs don't belong! Maybe a box is more appropriate for some people.....careful about those stains tho CAT!

I'm virtually spitting in the wind with a review below 5-stars, but don't you wonder about tons of 5-star recommendations and how they are gathered?

I bought into them and I should have been wiser.

I was asked to sit on a styling chair with splits in the seat larger than a turkey platter. I had to get my own plastic cover while the stylist mixed up the color. She used no product around my face to keep my skin from staining and, of course, I left with brown stains on my face and neck.

Instead of lowering the water line in the wall for each shampoo bowl, you climb up on a stool to get in the chair and then use that stool to rest your feet. Not so good if you're handicapped or short.

And, I left with one side of my hair roots a lighter color and patches of gray still showing on the back. Plus, I was charged for an all-over hair color when she did nothing but the roots and then put the rest of the color through to the roots as the water was running in the shampoo bowl.

All this while I'm staring in the mirror at a cardboard sign soliciting 5-star reviews for this site.

I truly felt as if I'd paid salon prices for Cost Cutter service, and I was furious when I checked the website and discovered the overbilling.

I looked up "Wheat Ridge" salons on my search engine and Altitude came up with great ratings. I looks up pricing also, and was very happy that everything seemed reasonable. I made an appointment (online, which was very easy) and my experience was very good! Laura did my cut and color and it turned out amazing. She was nice and friendly. I love the atmosphere and the other stylists seem very nice.
