Nothing Special. Just a standard place like Brothers or Dickeys. Bland ribs and pulled pork. Hot Link is Meh. If you want great BBQ go to Jabos across the street. It is a 1000 times better!
Greenwood Village location service sucks.
We went to the GV location on Arapahoe. The dude working couldnt take his eyes off the Ohio State game long enough to even greet us. Did not thank us for the business.
Food was good enough, nothing better or worse than Bono's or DIckeys.
Wont go back
A Little Bit of Home!. I had only been living in Denver a few months when I was driving down Broadway. When I get to the light I look over and see "Yazoo BBQ." I immediately grabbed my phone and called to ask about the name. Being from Mississippi I knew this was a city and river so it had to be related. Sure enough the owners are from the Delta. My boyfriend and I go one Saturday afternoon and I must say we were both impressed. BBQ is a religion for me since I grew up outside of Memphis so it's hard to impress me but man was the bbq and the sauce GREAT. I've turned a few people onto it and they have ALL been quite thankful. I must say that this is the BEST BBQ in Denver!!!
Great food, friendly staff. I have seen this place but was a little wary about wandering in for dining. Looks can be deceiving! The folks behind the counter and super nice and friendly, and they just want to get you something good to eat! I went with the ? pound brisquit sandwich. Oh my was it good! And the hot sauce is wonderful! I?ll definitely be back to try the ribs, the bobs and everything else available! We went with a group of 5 so we had to finagle another chair since it was raining out side and there are only 4 tables in side. Definitely go early, or late.
BBQ secret. If you?re looking for good BBQ at the best price, this is it. The menu has much more of a variety of items than some of the other BBQ places. The price is very reasonable and the originality is a 10. Service has been great the times I have been there. Smiling faces and polite attitude go a long way in my book. The food itself has got to be some of the juiciest meat I?ve ever had (besides cooking it in my own kitchen). This doesn?t look like the most intriguing place from the outside, but it means nothing to me after tasting the food. For being a downtown location, it?s actually nice to be able to park without breaking out additional cash. Lunch during the summertime can be very busy. As the season changes, the lack of indoor seating can make it a tough choice if your not doing take out. Despite the lack of decor and indoor seating, this place is definitely a 5 star place.
Hearty and humble. Their specialties are great. If you don't understand the menu immediately, ask for help. They're friendly and frank about their favorites and the best-selling items. This place is on an island surrounded by traffic and isn't fancy at all, but plenty of diners trot over for lunch. It's a favorite, and great for taking home if you want to eat like a Southern governor without heating up the kitchen.
This place rocks. The bbq here is awesome. This has to be the most under-rated BBQ place in Denver. I've read all the Westword reviews hyping up Brothers, Sam Taylor's, etc, but I've never read anything about Yazoo's. All I can say is this is definitely one of the best bbq places in Denver. It's reasonably priced and quick. Plus, they have great combonations which give you the option to try all kinds of food in one meal.
FINALLY!. I will try not to rant on how all the restaurants are a waste here in Denver. I had tried the #1 rated BBQ on the list here and they lack. NO HOT?! So I stumble across Yazoos. The Bobs are chicken breast kabobs wrapped in bacon with jalapeño bits. Ribs smoked with hickory and tender pink! They have a major range of sauces for wusses to the VERY SUPER HOT which requires me to put a roll of toilet paper in the freezer. Drawbacks. No inside seating and the soda is small with too much ice and lines are LOOOONG for refill.. Bobs sell out fast too. GO MAN GO!
Juciest Ribs Ever. I'm not a BBQ connoisseur, but I love BBQ and WOW! this place has, hands down, the juciest ribs I've ever had. Thank God I only live a few blocks away from this place, I will be a loyal customer from here on out!
