Denver >Oak Tavern
Pathetic--Denied Gift Certificate. We purchased a certificate from Restaurant-com (apparently not allowed to use dot com in review) and visited Oak Tavern for the first time to check it out. The place was empty except for one other person. When we presented the certificate, the waitress stated that they were no longer accepting these certificates even though the certificates do not expire and Oak Tavern certificates are still available for purchase on Restaurant-com. We explained that we had purchased the certificate but just received a deer-in-the-headlights response form the waitress. The manager was too cowardly to come speak to us in person but had the waitress tell us that they had had problems with Restaurant-com. If they had just offered to buy us a drink and bothered to explain the situation, we would likely have stayed and purchased a meal and more drinks in return. We would likely have rewarded that type of customer service with continuing patronage. Instead, we left and will never go back. Poor form, Oak Tavern. Zero stars if one was not required.
Best date ever!. My girlfriends and I tried Oak Tavern for dinner for the first time. The weather is getting chilly so we wanted a warm atmosphere and good cold weather eats. Because the bar is located on such a populated area with lots of night life around it seemed a good choice. Hiking around from bar to bar was to be avoided at all costs. What we didn't expect was to have an amazing meal, with very friendly personal service, a waitress who took initiative to introduce us to a group of her guy friends who we all clicked with. The cherry on top was that we never even had to leave the venue. Much to our surprise there was a cozy, sexy night club conveniently located upstairs owned by the same company. All of us danced the night away to amazing music and well you can fill in the blanks from there on out.
So glad I tried it. I forgot how good the food was at this place. If you want pizza or burgers there are a million places to go, but Oak has awesome mushrooms, and you have to try the Potatoes. I wasn't sure about it at first, but so glad I came in.
UFC Night Pleasantly Surprised!. I was surprised at how busy Oak tavern gets on UFC fight nights. I was meeting my guy friends there from the Easton gym (jiu jitsu gym in town) because they were hosting a table. I didnt expect it to be a packed house and great crowd. instead of stopping for a quick drink I stayed and met some new friends as well as had the stuffed mushrooms and artichoke dip. defintely going back for the next fight night plus only place to watch the fight without annoying cover charge.
Yum!. It is so hard to find a nice place with good drinks, dinner and all right by live dancing. Oak was amazing, I went there for the first time a week and a half ago and loved the service. It was adult friendly and lively. Definitely a great way to start out a perfect evening.
This place is a great spot! The food was really really good, and not typical bar food- better quality and not expensive! Its a very chill spot...their happy hour is AWESOME!
I have also been there at night and really liked the crowd~ had a very good time
Cool Spot. Great drink selection and the staff was friendly. I like the location downtown. I have been to the other sister bars to the Oak tavern and enjoy them all. Glad I finally got to check this one out. I will return again.
Unexpected Hot Spot.
This was an unexpected gem! Some of the bars downtown can leave you feeling older and more out of date than you ever thought you were so this was a nice change. It is trendy enough to make you feel like you don't have one foot in the grave at the ripe old age of 35!
The service was great and they have an interesting drink selection.
