Awesome cut, awesome color
by Spinayarn
I've been going to Luxe Salon, and specifically to George Arias, for eight years. George is, in a word, fabulous. For years he tweaked my short haircut to keep it up to date. Then he helped me grow it out to shoulder-length while still keeping it looking great. And the color has always been spot-on perfect. George *listens*--and that's really important.
- Pros: Great people, in style

Great short hair cut!
by kristabell71
I am new to the area and was lucky enough to find a great stylist in George Arias at Luxe Salon in Denver.
He is talented and honest and patient and charming. I cant say enough good things about him and Luxe.
Everyone was very friendly and made my first experience very warm. George rescued me from the worst haircut I ever had even though he did not have much to work with he did bring me to a "better place" just as he promised. He has won my trust and loyalty in one visit!
A Stellar Salon
by caohagan
I have been a client of George Arias for several years and have consistently been extremely happy with both the cut and color he provides. My hair is very short requiring frequent cuts, and each time, I like not only the initial cut but how it grows out. George is a perfectionist in the best possible way taking the time and possessing the talent to create a great cut and color. He is the perfect blend of professionalism, talent, and integrity.
not bad, but I don't think I'll go back
by violarulz
I have very fine wavy/curly hair and was really hoping that I could magically be transformed into Tina Fey, with bangs, like she wears on 30 Rock. My stylist (Hanna) probably should have warned me away from that instead of trying to do it. I now have weird frizzy curles for bangs. Even though I told her that I don't like to straighten my hair or use a lot of product (I'm lazy and let it air dry), I now have to to keep my bangs from looking like I stuck my finger in a socket. She also used way too much product styling my hair after she cut it.
Summary: I got a great hair cut, but no direction about how to style it myself. Too much styling product for my fine hair, even if it looked good, it was crunchy and stiff. Be proactive and ask if you think you need it.
- Pros: easy access by RTD, evening appointments
- Cons: didn't warn me away from a style that didn't work well with my hair
best salon
by brittgirl24
I have been to Luxe a few times now, and i will continue to go back again and again. I see Lisa for cut and color and she always does an awesome job. She listens well and gives you her honest opinion of what would look good. She also gives a great scalp massage when shampooing your hair, which is one of the best parts of getting your hair done! One time i was running late due to traffic but they were totally cool about it. I also appreciate that i never feel pressure to buy any products. Overall i totally reccomend this place to anyone!
- Pros: talented stylists, good location, reasonable prices
Sherry is the BEST!
by sydneylodo
I just moved to Denver back in September and had no clue where to go, after visiting the Spa at Larimer, the owner recommended Sherry at Luxe. I have long brown hair and she does really natural highlights (no stripes!!) I also get compliments on my cut all the time. I highly recommend Sherry, she's outgoing, fun to talk to, and really an expert at cut/color.
New Salon needs some assistance
by silvermoondenver
I have been visiting the salon for a while now and they recently moved across the street from a location that they were in for almost 10 years. My stylist is still fabulous and this is not a negative review for her or the work they do, but the vibe in the new salon is almost scary.
The stations are WAY to close together and it feels like everyone is bumping in to each other, the lighting is very flourescent and the shampoo chairs really should face the wall. Right now the shampoo chairs face into the styling area and people are constanly almost walking into and falling over your legs. There is not enough seating at all to wait up front and when your hair processes they put you back up there for all of Denver to see. The whole pace is just not inviting and is very uncomfortable. Additiionally, you can tell the stylist are uncomfortable as well as they all seem not so happy about the new digs and you can feel it.
I have recommended a few people to the salon and they have recently been in to the new place and have actually called me to say the same thing about the place needing some serious softening and a better, more inviting vibe.
Additionally the front desk girls could use a few lessons in etiquette as they barely talk to you and appear as if they are extraordinarily busy, when I think their entire job is to, or should be to, help people check in and out. I dont know just makes me feel like I am bothering them which is not what I want and compared to similar salons in the area you would think they could be friendly.
Anyway, thats my two cents. I know they have only been there for a few months so I guess time will tell.
- Pros: Stylists are very knowledgable and extremely skilled.
- Cons: Uncomfortable atmosphere, very crowded and front desk not friendly.
George is amazing!
by iucolorado
George was recommended to my by a good friend after I had a terrible butcher job from a previous stylist. George took the horrible cut and turned it into a fabulous trendy bob! He always has wonderful suggestions for cuts and color that work for you and your lifestyle. As long as George is around I will never trust anyone else with my hair!
Found, less stress
by KWinter
One of the biggest sources of stress in a new town can be finding a new hair place (it's true). Appointments are attainable, stylists are dependable, and talented. Because of the great cut and color I get from Jody, people stop me on the street and ask me where I get my hair done. I have board straight, long (boring?) hair, and Jody has created peace with it. The highlinghts last for 3-4 months and when getting it cut, I give him guidelines, not specifics. It is worth trusting people who do hair for a living. Bangs trims are every 3 weeks and free. Parking is usually not a problem, and the gatekeepers will make change for the parking meter. The art changes every few months and is a source of conversation.
- Pros: Cut, and Color, Conversation
- Cons: All my change is in the parking meter
