Not worth the drama

by Fitler at Citysearch

Average rating only because of the quality of food is good. There pizza is some of the best in Denver especially at 2am after drinking all night. However somehow they manage to staff this place with the biggest losers on the planet. I understand i can get annoying serving drunks all night and I?m not there to make friends with the staff but i have never before witnessed service this bad. Don't even think of bringing you young ones here. It is to close to the bars and you end up sharing your meal with a bunch of loud and inappropriate characters. I never go anymore, not even at night as the bunch of flunkies that are left in charge of this place at night are not worth your time. A member of the staff even used profanity one night because a customer asked about the status of his pizza. The owner of this place must have a horse shoe up his a$$ that he has this location because with the idiots of the earth that he allows to work there this place would be out of business in a week The music is loud but it is usually not bad in my opinion most people probably would not like there selection. In general this restaurant has good food but is filled with skinny punks that think they own the place. I'm sure this review will do little or nothing to harm the business of this establishment but i had to voice my opinion about the people that work there. Get over yourself you serve pizza for a living.

  • Pros: Good Pizza
  • Cons: Terrible staff. Terrible for kids. skinny punks

I hate my job thank you !

by meary at Citysearch

Saturday afternoon I stopped by to see if their might be any gluten free options on their menu. Not only was I sarcastically told by the clerk he could offer me a "paper plate with cheese and sauce" adding that i would have to take it home and cook it myself. The cook had to add his opinion that he doesn't "believe in gluten intolerance" and started to pontificate to himself in his caveman, uneducated, grunting condescension as I walked away.

NEVER AGAIN

by Shane86 at Citysearch

I went to two fisted marios a week ago... I paid with my card... it was 41 bucks... looked at my bank statement a week later and they tipped themselves 10 bucks... I tipped them in cash. (not that they deserved a dime) I will never eat there again... the cashier was rude... forgot half our order and when I asked them to correct the order i got attitude for the guy behind the bar. NEVER AGAIN.

  • Pros: N/a
  • Cons: Over charged my card

Durgin Park meets "Waiting"

by Freddie42 at Citysearch

While sitting down in this restaurant over lunch I overheard discussions from the guys behind the counter concerning teabagging pizza slices, and photographing it. For me, this was kind of a red flag indicating I should reconsider trusting this food provider. Squirt gun fights with the 409 is another one, as I'm not a big fan of the ammonia flavor. Reading other reviews, maybe this is kind of what they are going for...? Maybe "two-fisted" isn't about boxing? Maybe Best of Citysearch means something different than what I thought?

  • Pros: Convenient
  • Cons: Think about where you get your food

Worst service ever!

by magichands25 at Citysearch

This breaks my heart. Two Fisted Mario's has some great pizza, but never in my life have I witnessed this kind of embarrassing behavior from customer service, in ANY business. The pizza cook, in particular made the Seinfeld "Soup Man" look like a kind soul. He was swearing at a customer! The staff is really rude. I wonder if they would have been happier if they had no customers and could have used this restaurant as their own private club.

The pizza really is good, so maybe try it on a weekend night, after you've had enough alcohol not to mind the bad attitude of the staff. Just don't even consider bringing your children here.

  • Pros: Good pizza
  • Cons: Insulting and rude staff

It is truly the best slice in Denver

by Tanglelegged at Citysearch

I still go back and forth as to who has the best whole pizza in Denver, but by the slice, Two Fisted Marios is above and beyond the rest. 2 months ago, I strolled the streets of New York in search of the best slice of pizza, usually a mushroom. I had some good pizza, believe me. Each time I ate a slice in New York, I recognized how excellent it was, but there wan't anything that made it better than some of the slices I've had at Two Fisted Marios. I've eaten plenty of times there at 2am, but the pizza tastes just as good at 4 in the afternoon. Yeah, the waitstaff isn't always the friendliest, and sometimes the music is loud, but I'm not there to make friends or for the ambience. So, grab a couple slices and a draft beer, sit out on their Market Street Patio, and enjoy the best slice of pizza in this town!

  • Pros: Best Slice of Pizza in Denver
  • Cons: Seating is scarce

The Best Pizza in Denver...Hands Down!!

by honeydrop at Citysearch

This is the best pizza in Denver. I've eaten pizza in the biggest cities in America, and I've never had pizza this good. You can taste the fresh sauce. The thick delicious cheese and the toppings are huge and cut fresh. The staff is great, and they know they are the best in the city. It's just amazing. Honestly, the best pizza I've ever had. You will NOT be disappointed.

The review to end all reviews

by punksnotdead at Citysearch

All the other reviews are worthless. I have read them and they can be summarized as follows: 1) I am a retiree who does not understand the most recent generation and I am highly critical of any establishment that caters to said generation or 2) I am a gnarly dude and i was to eat some 'za at a chill joint. Neither of the aforementioned reviews provide a clear picture of the restaurant. I will attempt to avoid generational affiliations and provide unbiased criticism.

The restaurant has an excellent location right off the 16th St. Mall and nestled nicely inbetween a row of bars and other restaurants. It has an unassuming entrance and that theme carries into the dining room of the restaurant. The only real decorations are the posters on the wall that detail upcoming entertainment such as concerts, comedy acts, etc. One of the first details you notice is the heat.: there is no air conditioning. The menu selection includes pizza (by the slice or whole), calzones, and salad. The prices are standard for pizza (2.50 per slice, 15 for a whole pie) and the portions are excellent. One slice will fill up most average eaters. The dining room can seat roughly 40 people comfortably and some tables are actually old Atari games which help pass the time as you wait for your food. Other reviews complained of loud music, however when I attended (9pm on a Monday night), there was no music at all and the only thing you could hear was a TV with the History Channel playing.

The staff was very laidback and friendly. Other reviews describe how mean the staff are but beings how this place is open until 3 am, I would assume the unfriendly service is attributed to drunks at the end of a weekend night.

The pizza itself is pretty good though nothing outstanding but after a night of barhopping, it probably tastes like ambrosia.

Overall, the restaurant was fine for casual dining and would only be highly recommended as a late night food stop.

  • Pros: Excellent locale for a younger crowd
  • Cons: No AC

funny pizza

by plumm at Citysearch

This place rocks. Great pizza. The only "real" place in LoDo. The people are honest with a great sense of humor, and OBVIOUSLY have a tough job to do on the weekends. Tip them well. Too well. You have to learn to not be to sensitive, they are trying to do so much at once. WOW I couldn't do their job, RESPECT the MARIO. Love it, be open minded and you will have a blast!!!!! Plus they serve Old Style, simply amazing. well done guys(and the like 2 chicks that can handle workin there)

  • Pros: great music, fun people, beer and pizza(what else could there be
  • Cons: IT IS HOT IN THERE

Not very tasty pizza and poor service

by dominos55 at Citysearch

I thought the pizza was just okay, but have had better. The server was really unhelpful and kind of rude. Bathrooms were dirty.

  • Pros: We got a table outside
  • Cons: Messy inside, dirty bathroom
