La Dolce Vita.... Bravo!

by yankeefan19

I have been going to La Dolce for 8 years. The food has not changed in quality nor has the staff. This shows you the quality of La Dolce Vita...... feels like a little restaurant in Italy when you walk in. The great staff as well as fair prices makes this restaurant the perfect choice for Italian dining.

Coming from a NY Yankees fan and knowing the owners are from Boston .....the fact that I still recommend the place speaks volumes! You will not be disappointed

  • Pros: Great Staff and Owner and Even Better Food!
  • Cons: They need a place to wait outside ie: Patios, chairs

A Great All Around Place To Dine

by Diningguy74

We went to La Dolce Vita for dinner last week for our first visit. It was a wednesday night and we had no reservation and they were able to seat us promptly even though it was quite busy. We had a great experience overall. From the decor, food, service, wine and the singer; all of this combined together made this the real Sweet Life. We highly recomend this restaraunt to our friends for a romantic night out or a family dinner. There menu and atmosphere makes it enjoyable for everyone. Ciao

Life Really is Sweet at La Dolce Vita

by honeybee94

You wouldn't know it from the curb, but this little Italian restaurant is one of those rare places that has it all - romantic ambience, excellent service, and great food. We had reservations for 7:30 on a Saturday night, and we were seated promptly in the back room which was decorated nicely and very cozy. Adding to the romantic atmosphere was Carol McNeil who serenaded everyone with her lovely voice. The service was fast and friendly, and the food was delicious. I ordered the Cannelloni, and my husband ordered the Veal Parmesan, and both were very good. We also loved the garlic bread, and we enjoyed the triple chocolate cake for dessert. We will definitely be going back to La Dolce Vita for another romantic evening.

on the bright side, the wine tasted as it should

My food experience at La Dolce Vita leaves me not wanting to ever return. I ordered the bolognese. If you are unaware of what traditional bolognese is, I will tell you what it is not. You do not put parika in a traditional bolognese. There are variations, yes, but then don't tout your bolognese in an Italian restaurant as being Italian. The bolognese was a combo of ground beef/veal, a few vegetables, a sprinkling of peas on the top which looked dreadful and had no place in the bolognese sauce and no wine in the sauce (I was told by the waiter that they don't add wine to their sauce because they serve kids and obviously kids can't have alcohol. He obviously doesn't realize that the alcohol gets cooked out.) I pushed all the sauce to the side and requested a simple marinara but knew that the pasta had already been coated with the sauce, thus there would be no fix, but I tried. The waiter then brought me a small cup of their tomato basil sauce instead of the marinara, I hope, as I couldn't imagine them passing off what they gave me as a marinara sauce. Dreadful, just dreadful. I cannot believe that restaurant has stayed in business with that kind of subpar "Italian" food.

  • Pros: atmosphere is decent
  • Cons: food, horrible

Love it! Love It! Love It!

My family just moved here from the east coast and we LOVE this place. Great food! Great service! Great atmosphere! It is family owned and you must experience it to believe it. Friday and Saturday nights are packed so we go mostly on weeknights now. We are very glad we found this local gem.

  • Pros: Parking, friendly and knowlegable staff, wine list
  • Cons: none

Good appetizers, average entrees

by rich80108

This family owned restaurant is good, and the staff are friendly and attentive. We have found the appetizers and specials are usually the best options on the menu.

  • Pros: Friendly staff, good food
  • Cons: Red sauce is a little weak for my taste.

Something for every taste.

by cornpopgirl

I came here last weekend for a family birthday. It was very crowded and a tight fit but Wow... I know why. The menu has something for everyone..pasta seafood veal and not just the standard presentations on these either. Our waitress was very attentive to us and the birthday boy. The calamari was crisp, the mixed grill plate was a delight, and the chiati was like silk. My husband passed a piece of his pork around the table (a table of 10) he was so impressed he had to share. The espreso was a perfect ending to the meal.

Could have done without the lady singing Sinatra. You may also spend up to 20 mintues trying to get parking and there is no valet option.

  • Pros: Great food, attentive waitstaff, excellent wine
  • Cons: crowded, tight spacing, poor parking

Am I still in Colorado??

by phineas_63

The menu says that you'll be transported to a small village in Sicily, but I was transported to the old neighborhood I grew up in....Brooklyn New York. Not any one thing in particular, just the whole "feel" of the place. The owner introducing himself, being treated like an old friend by the servers, the lady singin' Sinatra, the food, the food, the food. And the wine, the wine, the wine. I couldn't have been any more surprised or delighted if Ed Koch had walked in. Bravo, La Dolce Vita, BRAVO!!

  • Pros: Great food, great service, great atmosphere
  • Cons: Gets a little backed up on weekends

Fun Italian dining for the entire family hits the suburbs in style.

by Contributor

In Short
The decor is reminiscent of an Italian piazza, with its use of concrete, pillars, stone floors, a fountain, architectural figures on the walls, flowers and grape vines. The menu features 17 pizza choices, including one that features wonderful mozzarella and Gorgonzola cheeses, pears and walnuts on a thin crispy dough--a sophisticated combination. The cedar-plank smoked salmon with grilled vegetables and roasted potatoes is another good option.

Delicious, Friendly, Entertaining!

by cpnlynn

Never have we been to a restaurant that so many of our friends and family want to return to again and again! Managers Ignazio and son Michael are synonymous with "family" and "friendly service". We are always treated like family and the food is wonderfully prepared. And Regan's 'by request' singing adds to the ambiance several nights a week.

Italian wedding soup is a favorite and comes with your meal, and everything I've tried from the Mediterranean trout to the linguini with pesto sauce has been great. I recommend reservations on weekends.
