Disgusting food, horrible service
by freesoulfire at Citysearch
The menu is overpriced for the crap you are fed. The food is disgusting and taco bell does a much better job (which does not say much). The portions were so small, food unflavourful, and salsa was horrible. I can't believe this place is still in business. I am really shocked they are still open. Worst mexican food ever.
- Pros: leaving
- Cons: everything
Owner Paul Martinez is worst Boss of 2009
by KKD at Citysearch
Paul Martinez, the co-owner of Alamos Verde, has been found the worst Boss of 2009 and has been sued by the EEOC.
Google worst boss of 2009 for details. The filter on the comments section wouldn't let me post the web page.
- Pros: none
- Cons: EEOC suit against owner
best family owned restaurant in town
by enderlepat at Citysearch
We have been eating there for years. Best chicken enchildas in the country.Always greeted warming
and service is great. The person who said that the food was made by white people couldnt be more
wrong. They are a wonderful Hispanic family who make everything from scratch.
- Pros: Great burritos nhot too hot.
- Cons: none

It's not that you didn't try. You sort of did. You cater to families and have a seemingly devout clientele. That's what is really troubling. That there could be that many people who can eat what you provide. I won't go into thorough details; however, I will try to convey a worldly feeling I got from you. Ready? Here it goes: White people making Mexican food from really large cans. Thanks for trying.
Don't eat here.
- Pros: Leaving, Still alive (for now)
- Cons: Deciding to try this one out, trying this one out
Green chili is...

FABULOUS!!! But so is their opening salsa. Your first impression is WOW. Great parking, even though it looked full they have overflow that is well marked so don't let the small front parking sway you. Inside is relaxed and a bit noisy but very nice. Then you get to the food, which made this Arizona girl very happy. The portions are very generous for the reasonable pricing but more importantly - it is spicy but not just mixed with jalapeno to make it hot. They really know that flavorful is the best. The heat hits where it is supposed to on their hotter items a nice slow build up while enjoying the savory experiance of the dish. UMMMMM. Alamos Verde is now on my "I will return" list. Even my 'wussy' no-heat friend liked the Mondongo Dinner. What a 'hidden' treasure. And if this is a hole in the wall it is only because it is not on a "main" street and not due to the site itself, in my opinion. Thank you Martinez family and keep up the GREAT work.
- Pros: Food, Service, Price
- Cons: Location
Eating here for over 25+ years, it is the BEST!
by steverabkin at Citysearch
It is one if not the best Mexican Restaurants in all of Colorado. It was started by family many many years ago, when they had a Boulder,CO location. The portions are huge and the best AUTHENTIC Mexican food available! The Chile Verde is the best, as are their Tamales, Huevos and everything else. We alsways get food tp take home. Many people have their Verde and their huge Tamales shipped around the U.S as we did before moving back. You cannot go wrong and it is not a a Little hole in the wall; with a large Bar/sports room, big outside patio and inside quiet inside dining.
- Pros: VERDE, tamales, all dishes
- Cons: ARVADA
Go for the Green Chile!
by kristenindenverco at Citysearch
This is kind of a hole-in-the-wall restaurant that doesn't have much ambiance but the food is authentic, filling and bursting with flavor. The best item on the menu is the green chile. It has tons of flavor and can be a bit hot. The chile rellanos are also very good!
