we go there every chance we get. am sad they are no longer open for lunch during the week. The Czech items on the menu are the best in the state.
- Pros: i loved the food and sauces. the specials are always great!
- Cons: it is not "fast food" and the wait is worth every penny
Their hours have changed!

They changed their hours last Feb09, but failed to have them changed on the web. I suggest calling before going ....
Great service, if you do not cross ethnic boundries!

We went to Golden Europe to celebrate the closing of our house. The restaurant had been recommended by some friends, so we decided to give it a shot. The service was terrible, the waitress refused to make eye contact with me, but only communicated with my fiancee. I looked passed that, figured she was shy. Food was average. As I scoped other tables, I noticed that a gentleman was walking around greeting all customers, chatting with them, asking about their meals, etc. At times he made an appearance at a table nearly THREE times. I waited patiently for him to come by our table, but he never did. We were the only table with diversified attendees, I truly believe this was race related. We will not go back to Golden Europe, because of this experience.
Outstanding Food

In response to the review stating this is a great place if one doesn't cross ethnic lines ... I am a blue-eyed natural blonde of Dutch descent. My husband and I have eaten at Golden Europe at least ten times (and the food was EXCELLENT every time) and never once has the owner stopped to speak to us or ask if everything is okay. And while the wait staff who served us over our many visits was cordial and efficient, they also did not go out of their way to engage us in conversation. The fact that the ethnic reviewer was not spoken to directly is not an indication of a biased establishment. Sounds to me like she has a major chip on her shoulder. If one is looking for INCREDIBLY GOOD, authentic German food - this is the place to go.
- Pros: Food, Service, Ambiance
- Cons: Smallish dining room; can be loud with large groups
Best German Restaurant in Town

We went for lunch and found out that they didn't open at 11:00 as posted, but actually 11:30. That didn't stop the owner from inviting us in and letting us wait for the opening time. He gave us menus and turned the music on. We chatted with the host, servers and the owner and the service was great, but the food was even better. There was several large groups there, and the owner took time to speak to everyone. One large group spoke German or Czech to him, and they were all having a really great time. It was absolutely delicious, the best German food that we have ever had, and we have tried many restaurants in Denver and the surrounding area. I would highly recommend this restaurant and we are looking forward to going back for dinner, to try the Czech plate, a combination plate with roast duck and pork loin. Try it, you won' be disappointed!
- Pros: Authenticity, great food, great service and very affordable
Great German food, Excellent wait staff

My husband and I have driven by Golden Europe several times over past 2 years we have lived here. We were skeptical, since we never saw much activity, but their parking lot is behind the restaurant. The previous reviews especially helped us get over our fears! My husband and I had a wonderful experience at Golden Europe last weekend! I had their roast duck that was so tender it fell right off the bone. My husband had a dish similar to a breaded tenderloin with the most different and flavorful gravy! The wait staff was extremely courteous and the owner dropped in to answer our questions about their wine menu. We are definitely going back to this well run local establishment and suggest you try this restaurant if you haven't already!
- Pros: Great German Food, Great Service
- Cons: Can Be Noisy
Great place for a business lunch
by mem620 at Citysearch
Not too crowded or noisy. Fast and efficient service. The food was really superb and authentic. The lunch special was heavenly - smoked pork with horseradish sauce. If you work in the area of Wadsorth and I-70, consider it for lunch.
- Pros: Affordable lunch menu and fast service
- Cons: dinner menu has the same offerings, but at a premium
WOW!!!

We were so impressed with this restaurant. We went to try the cuisine of our families. We found it to be unlike what we were expecting. The flavors of the different foods were truly refreshing. It really felt like we were walking into another country. The food was very typically German, from what we understood. Hearty homecooking with a truly pleasent atmosphere. We felt welcomed and appreciated to visit this establishment. Will definately return with family in tow!!!
- Pros: Variety of choices, Authenticity, Warm environment
- Cons: Poorly lit parking, No website to visit
