Best Happy Hour..

.. Is just one of the nifty awards this "hole-in-the-wall" bar has earned during the year 2007. Happy hour happens three times a day ( 9am-11am, 5pm-7pm, 11pm-1am) and most drinks are two for one specials. I can't believe that some people actually run "The Cycle" (they are in the bar for all three happy hours) Talk about rough on the liver :) On weekends they have live music, and the whole place is jamming. On sundays, there is karaoke.. I haven't gotten the nerve to get up and sing yet. But its a very comfortable environment. The Zephyr has other awards ( Aurora Sentinel) such as Best Place to Cure a Hangover, Best Place to do Nothing at All, Best Nightlife, Best Live Music... Its really a great place. You'd think that since it was right on east Colfax, there would be a lot of problems. This isn't the case, most of the riff raff stays out, or stays quiet. I'd check it out if I were you. Its a great time

I had been wary about going into the Zephyr, its in a shady location. However, I had heard good things from people, especially about the live music on friday and saturday. I decided to go and check it out after work one day. See I work at Fitzsimmons Hospital complex right across the street, so I swung by on Friday after work. The music started at nine, I walked in shortly thereafter. I grabbed a chair, ordered a drink from a lovely waitress, and started surveying the scene. The band was fun, they did a lot of song requests, and kept the crowd moving. At eleven Happy Hour started. Come to find out, its two for one drinks! That's a great deal. And then it gets even better, there are three happy hours a day. 9-11am 5-7pm and 11pm-1am. I would definitely recommend going there on a weekend. I haven't been on a weekday yet, but I'll post a review after I have time.
