Great Mexican Food

by Debra K at Citysearch

El Jardin is a great place to eat Mexican food. Their food is affordable, their sevice is decent and their food is good. We like to go and meet our friends there to eat. We have always been treated with respect and the waiters and waitresses know us and remember things about us, like what we like to drink. Go and enjoy them.

Best 5280 Deal - Great service

by Coach80022 at Citysearch

We love 5280 restaurant week....and when our friends took us out to celebrate 5280 at El Jardin we couldn't believe the deal! 4 margs, 4 orders of fajitas, appetizer and dessert? Were you kidding me? This by far and away was the best deal ever...not only was the price unbelieveable, but the food and service was top notch!

Julio was our server and he made our night out that much more enjoyable. If you dine there I highly recommend that you request Julio to be be your server, he will make your experience very memorable. We're from south Aurora and the 20 plus minute drive is well worth it!

  • Pros: Great service - special deals
  • Cons: none at this point

WORST MEXICAN FOOD I EVER TASTED!

by amyresso at Citysearch

We tried this restaurant this weeked after hearing it on the radio. WHAT??? You have to be kidding me!The chili and beans tasted like they were out of a can. And the 100% guarantee that our meal is free if we were not satisfied. I would not eat here again if they were giving it away for FREE! Very disappointed with this place. We traveled 8 miles to eat here and for what? We would of had a better meal at Taco Bell. We paid 40 dollars for something that tastes worse then dog meat. Don't let the nice ambience from the outside fool you. You will regret everything the minute you walk in the door.

Pros: Looks nice as far as the decorations and outside of the restaurant.

Cons: Don't let all the radio hype fool you

  • Pros: Outside
  • Cons: Worst Mexican Food

THE BEST MEXICAN FOOD!! With great deals too!

by ElaineTrabajo at Citysearch

My family loves El Jardin. I was reading these posts and PKYPKY doesn't have a clue what he/she is talking about. This is by far the BEST Mexican food in Colorado. We have had nothing but professional customer service and they really care. The specials are good deals with $2 burrito days, and top quality. I own a business and I know you can't make everyone happy, and realize that not every business is perfect. My suggestion to everyone is to try it yourself. This restaurant is wonderful and me, my husband, kids and extended families love it. One of our favorites is the Fajita Burrito supreme...YUMMY! The only bummer is that we have to drive a little bit out of the way to get there, but it is WELL worth it. The parking can be tough on a busy night, but I guess that goes to show you that if they are full, then they must be good! I highly recommend El Jardin!

  • Pros: Excellent Food, Great Taste...love the HOT green chili!
  • Cons: Parking on a busy night.

Dried up peices of jerky covered in green chile. Want cheese, lettuce, tomoatoes, beans and rices? That'll be $8 extra...WT?

by PkyPky at Citysearch

My husband and I ate at a place called Los Pinos Monday of last week. It was absolutely fantastic. I had the steak and avocado burrito that melted in my mouth. He had a combination of sorts that was equally wonderful.

Upon mentioning this to his friend, the friend insisted we try this great place in Commerce City, "El Jardin".

I was sooo disappointed. I actually made it a point to write a bad review when I got a chance. So I get online today to write my reviews and to my disbelief you were ranked number one on City Search last year! What happened?

The service was awful, my empty glass of iced tea sat on the edge of the table 90% of the time, was finally refilled by another waitress after I had to flag my own server down to ask for one.

Atleast seven employees (2 bussboys, 4 waitresses, and I assume the owner (your picture is hanging in he entry way) all walked by, some more that others and glanced at the empty glass a few times but didn't ask or offer a refill.

No one asked how the meal was, but the owner/manager was awfully busy with some obvious regulars gossiping about the events of the previous Friday night.

Now to the worst part. I was shocked to see the prices, $13.99 for the burrito, no rice, no beans, no cheese. Extra $1.69 for lettuce and tomatoes, plus $1.69 for rice, and again $1.69 for beans. When did you actually start getting away with charging for what used to be included (and in most restaurants still is) in a decent meal. That's the price of a steak dinner! Atleast I'd get the steak and not the grizzly dried up pieces of jerky I received in a tortilla covered with green chile.

Understandably, if you want a decent meal, you have to pay a fair price. Maybe you should go to Los Pinos and try their steak and avocado burrito.

Very disappointing.

by MGM17 at Citysearch

The food was average (pretty much the same stuff you find at On the Border, less creative), the margaritas were average (with very few choices), the atmosphere was lacking (I felt like I was in a warehouse). I haven't tried many home-grown places in Denver yet, but I would think there is a better "Best in Denver" mexican place than this. If it's near you and you're curious, maybe try it, but it's not worth the drive if you live in central or southern Denver. Considering all the hype, El Jardin was very disappointing.

The staff was great, though!

  • Pros: Great and friendly service
  • Cons: Food and drinks disappointing

Nothing to write home about

by nicbo at Citysearch

While it wasn't awful, I don't plan to return. The food was very bland, and over priced. I expected great Mexican food based on the reviews but I was disappointed. Still, service was prompt and polite.

  • Pros: Great service
  • Cons: Too much for bland food
