Probably the Best Night Ever?
by chomurphy
You must order the ?Neo Sashimi Wrap?, ?Sashimi Half moon?, and the ?Peacock Roll?. They are 3 (sort-of expensive) specialty rolls that will knock your socks off. The sushi last night was sooo awesome that my husband and I couldn?t even fight over our ruined and dwindling marriage. Samurai?s commitment to quality and service is outstanding. The sushi was so incredible I never once thought about how much I hated or was disgusted with the man sitting across from me. I?ve been going to Samurai for over 10 years and they never cease to please me every time. No matter where I live in Denver I will always go out of my way to eat at Samurai. I?m claiming Samurai in my divorce papers.
- Pros: Best Sushi Ever - Best Flavors of Specialty Rolls
- Cons: Can't think of anything right now
OMG I LOVE SAMURAI!
by JKim1223
Let's see where to start! I am a very avid sushi eater, growing up in NYC I know what it means to have great tasting and FRESH food! Samurai exceeded my expectations from the beginning! The exterior of the restaurant definitely does not do it justice! When I was walking towards the entrance I though to myself ?this place looks like a whole in the wall? but the minute I walked in it was completely stylish then I expected. It has a very homey feeling to it! The FOOD WAS AMAZING! I left it up to the waitress to surprise me, and I?ve never had sushi as good as it was here! All the tastes were so BOLD and every flavor complimented each other! The staff was like family and their sake list was phenomenal (Especially the dessert Apple sake!). I?ve been going there ever since!
- Pros: the cheap prices for great food and service
- Cons: not enough room for parties over 10 people
Top 5 Sushi restaurant in Denver
by teetrance
This is one of my favorite Sushi places. Ive been to 20 different sushi joints in Denver, and by far, this is above many. This is definately in my top 5, and I consider myself a sushi connoisseur. They have a specific nigiri dish here that is not served anywhere else. It's a tofu pocket (inari) with salmon and crab w/ mayo in it. Definitely one of my favorites here. They also have excellent hand rolls here during happy hour. My favorite is the spicy california roll. We obviously know about the Sushi Den's and the Sasa's, however, give this diamond in the rough a chance. The value is the only drawback, i recommend going during happy hour which is around 5-7 pm.
- Pros: Dishes not found anywhere else in denver
- Cons: value.. go during happy hour
Great Sushi
by denvermike6
The sushi was delecious with much larger portions than we have experienced at Japon on Gaylord. The service was super and the presentation was very appetizing. Be sure to try the apple saki as an after dinner drink and ask for Dana.
Great food and service

My husband and I recently moved to the neighborhood and have been to the restaurant a few times, by ourselves and with our 1 year old son. We have had good service and great food everytime. If you like sangria, you have to try the Samur-gria. It is amazing!!! Also, the organism roll is ...... (you get the picture). We highly recommend Samurai!
Good food, horrendous service!
by daphnesmom
Dined there about three or four times in the last month and although the food has been good, the service has been beyond awful. They seem very understaffed both in terms of waiting tables and behind the sushi bar. It took over ten minutes for someone to even come get our drink order and our food took almost an hour to show up on my last two visits! On one of our visits, they brought the wrong appetizer and then took about 30 minutes to replace it with the right one. Even though the food is good, I will not return for another anxiety-inducing two-hour meal.
- Pros: Good sushi
- Cons: Some of the worst service I've encountered
One Of The Best Sushi Restaurants In Town!
by ikiru71
This sushi place hidden at the back of a strip mall is one of the best around. The restaurant has a nice and relaxing atmosphere and the food is wonderful. Their individual sushi pieces are fresh and full of flavor. The seared tune is divine and one of the best I've had in town. Their specialty rolls are wonderful and original. Try the smoked salmon roll! The sushi chefs are more then willing to make changes to items on the menu to suit your tastes and need. I've only had a few items from the main menu beyond the sushi, but each of those items have been excellent.
- Pros: Excellent Food, Atmosphere, Happy Hour

Love this place!!!!!

Although Denver is generally not known for great sushi, I took a friend from Seattle to the Samurai and he raved - said it was better than Seattle where seafood is right off the boat fresh. This is truly a diamond in the rough - not only is the restaurant very comforatble and elegantly decorated they also have a couple of the tatami rooms. They are not just about sushi here. The menu is very impressive and actually has a seven course Japanese meal for 2. Excellent udon and tempura also. Highly recommend
- Pros: Nice decor, Full bar, Happy hour sushi
