Worth waking up early for

by RightAllTheTime

My whole family despise waking up early but this place makes it bearable.

Everything we have tried has been spot on and better than anything grandma can whip up. Sometimes on the weekend they even have free coffee while you wait (and wait you will if you don't go early!). Yummy yum yum.

Breakfast done very well

by JedZeppelin

Imagine a Denny's/Village Inn/Perkins where the service is better and the place is a bit cleaner and the atmosphere is a bit lighter. Then layer a perfect breakfast on top of that, and you have the Pancake House. I am fanatical about several things here. The coffee is unfussy but good. The fresh squeezed orange juice. Consistently better than most fresh squeezed; is good even when oranges aren't in season. The pecan pancakes with the delightful tropical syrup (better than the pure maple syrup, even). The real whipped cream. Perfectly ripe fresh fruit. Bacon and eggs that are always cooked perfectly. Never undercooked, never undercooked. That kind of consistency is very, very rare, from my observations. Lastly, the 'dutch baby' on the memu is actually a 'pannekoeken' -- which I am obsessed with from travelling to Minnesota. Delicious eggy pancake that comes to your table hot and puffed up several inches from the steam built up while baking... yum. And the apple version is even better.

  • Pros: Perfect fried eggs. Pancakes are superb
  • Cons: Others disagree -- but I dislike the baked omelettes

Made-to-order breakfasts---including over a dozen unique flapjacks---stack the odds in this restaurant's favor.

In Short
Founded in Oregon circa 1953, this simply-furnished spot owes its success to its creative menu and fresh ingredients. Batters are made on the premises; a special "sourdough starter" keeps treats from tasting overly sweet. Patrons choose from eggs, waffles, crepes and oven-baked omelets, as well as signature plates like blueberry pancakes (served with or without compote), giant cinnamon-glazed apple pancakes, thin and chewy "49-ers" and the air-filled, lemon-and-sugar-topped "Dutch Baby."

Great Breakfast Place

by wealthofnations

A fun place for breakfast, friendly service, a wide variety of choices from baked apple pancakes the size of a souffle, to delicate crepes or hearty bacon and eggs. Quarters are close, so don't expect much privacy, but bring the kids, you'll have a great time and a full stomach.

Potato Pancakes and Crepes to Die For

by rrs517

What a wonderful discovery for a breakfast restaurant. It was our time today and we'll be back. The lines are long but move quickly. The menu is extensive and the French Toast, Crepes and Potato Pancakes are nothing but outstanding. In spite of being very busy this morning (New Year's day) the food and the service was excellent and we were not rushed out the door. We will try the East Belleview location next time since it is closer to us.

  • Pros: Great Food and service
  • Cons: Very Busy

Try them during the week

It was so loud on a Sunday morning we couldn't hear each other. Lot's of noisy kids. Had trouble getting a second cup of coffee. The food was great. I'd come back, but not on a weekend.

They know their pancakes!

by msfoodie

Ah...to start your morning right you need to have a cup of coffee and a heaping plate of pancakes from this place. Sometimes the wait can be long but so what? It's actually worth the wait!

Very Impressive

by digreene709

While visiting our son he took us to one of the greatest places in Denver for breakfast. The apple starter was wonderful...Had to take a picture of this.

The omelets were out of sight..The mexican sauce that adorned it was spectular..

As for the service non to compare. No wonder it's a popular place..

Tyler Texas sure could support one of these. Most are all chains...Lots of room for an upgrade to our growing city.

  • Pros: Service was very effi
