Not only is Roxborough close to the city, it also boasts some of the most spectacular scenery in metro Denver. The park and its multiple hiking trails are clean and well-maintained. Spring is a particularly great time to visit since the wildflowers are out in full force. Take the South Rim loop (3 miles) to enjoy the flora or explore the Fountain Valley trail (2 1/4 miles) to get close to the red rock formations and enjoy views of the downtown skyline.

Pros: Ample Parking, Uncrowded, No Pets

Know Before You Go

Leave the family dog, the bike, and the rock-climbing shoes at home, for pets are not allowed, and hiking/walking is about the only outdoor activity that is.
