I live in downtown denver, so I tend to favor restaurants in my general area. My only familiarity with this restauraunt was in passing conversation, but I just happened to see an advertisment for the Manor House and I figured why not. My wife and I drove about 25 minutes from downtown and arrived at the whitehouse-resembling property at about 7pm. It was christmas time and the lights were absolutely gorgeous. For living in Colorado 10+ years now I was almost upset to have not experienced this. I had made reservations and we were seated promptly. We sat next to a cozy fireplace, and although the server was a little young in my opinion for a fine dining restaurant, we were very impressed with the service. The wine selection was vast and almost a bit too eclectic for my taste, but overall very impressive. We skipped the appetizer and went for a great blue cheese house salad to start. My wife ordered the salmon which came on a cedar plank; great presentation. I had the prime rib which I was told was a house favorite. The prices were both in the 30's but we did recieve what we paid for. The salmon came out perfect, and the Prime rib was enormous. Both were cooked as ordered, and both were delicious. I must say that I do not normaly review anything, other than in passing conversation... but this restaurant was a must as I would not normaly have traveled to dine in Ken Caryl. Do not miss out on this historic property and amazing restaurant. If it means anything, I already have booked my family's Christmas party for 07' in one of the upstair's rooms.

Pros: One of a kind property/setting

Cons: None that I experienced
