I was on a short vacation with some buddies from AZ and our hotel recommended Sullivan's for a great evening of steaks and cigars. Service was friendly and attentive by some of the best looking waitstaff I have seen in a long time. The martinis were cold and refreshing and the wine our server chose was perfect. Food was prepared perfectly as ordered and the cigars on the patio after dinner made for a perfect evening. A stunning female manager came by several times, I think her name was Angie, to check up on us and after we left over 3 1/2 hours later, we were completely satisfied. Congrats to the staff and mnagers for "getting it". I learned there is one here in AZ in Tucson and I will surely make the drive from Phoenix to visit.

Pros: Great Energy!

Cons: Not one in Phoenix/Scottsdale

I have been going to sullivans now for a year and a half. Their thursday night bar menu is a must but after having eaten in the dining room about 10 times now i only have the best to say. Their wine list is extremely good and extensive and if you ask Johnny laxon for the off the menu stuff, he comes up with some great bottles. The service is what i have been most impressed with. it isnt uncommon to get great service from steak houses but having eaten at almost all of them in denver and south denver, i am confident in saying that they have some of the best service in town. This is a MUST for steakhouses in denver. lastly the atmosphere is next to perfect and unbeknownst to most people it has been here for 8 years. They are not going anywhere with their great steaks, awesome service and great wine list

Pros: Service / Food / Wine Selection

Cons: Cant think of any

I came to Sullivans to meet some friends that I had not seen in quite awhile. My first impression of the restaurant was the valet working outside. ( I believe his name was Adam) He explained about the company charge, asked my name, and made gret conversation. He mde me feel like though he was busy, my business mattered to him. I went to the bar for a drink and was helped by a cute red haired girl. She made me the best martini that I have had in a long time. I think it was called the knockout. Later, I was brought into the ining room and our server had the personality of a dish mop. Going to a restaurant like this, I expected great service, but our server was merely an order taker and seemed like she could care less about being there. The food was good, but nothing extraordinary. The wine selection was nice. Upon leaving he restaurant nearly three hours later, the valet, Adam remembered my car and name and quickly had my car pulled up, while opening the doors for my passengers. That was such a nice personal touch! If I come back, it will only be because of the great valet and the bartender.

Pros: valet and bartender

Cons: bathrooms not very clean and server acted like she would rather be elsewhere.

Had the chance recently to meet some girlfriends in the Mile High city for a weekend of shopping, food and of course, drinks. Sandy, who was the only native, took us to Sullivan's downtown and said that if you want to really see the best of Denver, this is the spot. We arrived around 7pm on a Friday and if the crowd in the lobby and bar were any indication, we were definitely in the right spot. We made our way to the hostess stand and announced our party of 4. A young lady greeted us warmly and asked if we would like to enjoy a drink in the lounge while waiting for our table. We managed to find a bar table as some other folks were leaving. A server came quickly to our table and took drink orders. The Knockout is the way to go here!! A delicious and refreshing martini that is a house favorite. Live music kept us entertained for the 20 or so minutes we waited. We were fetched from the bar and made our way to a great booth. Service was efficient and gracious from a multitude of different servers. Two of my friends were talked into the seafood feature the chef had prepared that evening. My filet was perfectly cooked and melted in my mouth. The sea bass, chef's feature, was amazing with a parmesan risotto. Sandy opted for the lobster tail and was the largest tail I have ever seen. Server, Meg, said the seafood is flown in fresh from the East Coast and two of the three chefs graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. Real chefs in a steakhouse explained why all of the food from salads to sides to the desserts were perfect. I recommend the creamed corn, augratin potatoes and the key lime pie. Loved the decor with huge fresh flower arrangement in the middle of the room and a lot of great-looking people in the bar and dining room. Kudos to the staff and chefs. I will make this a stop every time I am in town.

Pros: Amazing food, great service

Cons: Not one in my city!

We had lunch. This Businessman's spot serves the expense accounts well, otherwise it has no redeeming qualities. The food is soaked in butter (or is it grease), and way over salted. The wine list is extensive and every bit as expensive.

Pros: Atmosphere

Cons: Food, expensive

My wife and several business associates recently visited Sullivan's on a Wednesday night. While the decor of the restaurant "looks" nice, the quality of food and service is nowhere near as impressive. My wife and I arrived early, so we found a place in the lounge and ordered a glass of wine. During the next several minutes we were offered service by 3 different waitstaff. Ordinarily this wouldn't be a bad thing, but in this case we had already let the previous server know that we wanted to order a drink. Our drinks arrived around the same time as the other guests we were meeting so I requested a check for our drinks. It took about 10 minutes for the check to arrive after asking the bartender twice. Again, this wouldn't usually be a big deal, but we had guests waiting. Our server was efficient, but I felt that the service was out of character with the upscale attitude of the restaraunt. The quality of the food was unimpressive at best. I don't have the world's greatest palette, but I have eaten in nice restaraunts in Denver and other cities. Overall, the food was just bland. Presentation was pasable, but nothing about the meal was impressive. We ordered several appetizers, 5 or 6 side items, and 6 entrees. The food arrived warm, but not hot and the kitchen had run out of two of our requested side items. Our meal, was followed by a sampling of 4 desserts that were mediocre at best. Toward the end of the meal I excused myself to the restroom which was FILTHY. Talk about a bad end to a borderline experience. In my opinion there is absolutely no excuse for an unclean facility in an establishment like this. I did enjoy the wine selection and they had a nice jazz group in the lounge.

Pros: Wine selection, Lounge atmosphere

Cons: Food, Service

Excellent service, high quality steaks and salads, enjoyable bar I appreciated that the steaks were not smothered in salt and butter. Generous portions, cooked perfectly.

On a recent buiness trip to Denver I visited some old college friends from Arizona. With all of the choices for restaruants in Denver I wanted my friends to take me to their favorite dining spot. We drove a short while downtown to an area called LoDo and pulled up to a non-descript corner of 18th and Wazzee. A cool vibe was being pumped from speakers as we entered the restaurant. We were greeted promptly by a well-dressed young lady and after announcing our reservation she said that our table was not quite ready, but we were welcome to enjoy a cocktail in the bar and she would come get us as soon as the table was available. The Martinis were perfectly shaken and tasted great after a long day of seminars. The live music in the bar made the wait seem like minutes until the young lady escorted us to the dining room. The live Maine lobsters were nicely displayed in a tank in the foyer. The feel of the room was busy and exciting without being rushed. The servers were polished and smiling and the fresh flower arrangement in the middle of the room was extravagant. We were promptly greeted by our server and my friend ordered his favorite appetizers for the table. The shrimp cocktail, tuna tartare and crab cake were outstanding. My filet with crab and bernaise topping was cooked perfectly and melted in my mouth. One of my friends enjoyed the fresh Sea Bass with a Sherry Soy reduction that looked fantastic The side dishes were steaming hot, something you don't get very often, and the crab fried rice and sweet potato casserole were heavenly. It is surely enough food for the hearty and I had plenty to take back to my hotel. A piece of key lime pie and a cup of coffee were it for me. I left my two friends in the bar enjoying cigars and ports, someting I do not see back in Arizona, and retired back to my hotel. If you ever find yourself in LoDo looking for a great dinner, Sullivan's Steakhouse is the place.

Pros: Lively atmosphere, great service

Cons: Need one in Scottsdale

My husband and I have been to Sullivans for 3 out of our last 4 anniversaries. This year it was our 15th, and so we thought we'd go back. We made reservations online and notified them that it was our 15th year wedding anniversary. We were seated promptly and the hostess did wish us a happy anniversary, but she was the only one. I would expect that information should be passed along to the waitperson, but it was not. We were rushed all through our dinner. The shrimp appetizer was really good, but it was swooshed away as my husband was barely finshed eating his last bite. We were having to poor our own wine, which isn't a huge deal, but wine service would have been nice. Our meal was very good, as it usually is, but we ordered two sides and only one was brought with our meal. The second one came out half way through our meal. We had several waitstaff asking if we wanted a togo box since we weren't gobbling down our food quickly. It felt like they were just trying to turn the table for other diners. We usually order dessert for our anniversary and have a nightcap, but considering the fact that we felt so rushed and wasn't treated like maybe we thought we would have considering this was the 3rd anniversay we have celebrated there, we opted to go somewhere else for dessert and a night cap. We won't be back, and we won't recommend Sullivans to others. There are too many other steakhouses in Colorado that would appreciate our patronage!

I travel for a living and eat out 4 to 5 nights a week. My co-workers took me to a restaurant that was new to me and I had such a great exprience I wanted to tell everybody. From the moment we walked into the restaurant, the staff was so attentive and helpful. We went into the lounge to grab a drink and listen to the live music. It was so upbeat and so much energy from the guests to the staff. When we were seated our server was outstanding from the time we sat down to the time we left. The best part about it was they were not hovering around us. We started with the seafood sample that was so fresh. Then I had the 8oz filet and it was the best filet I have ever had. It melted in my mouth. The server suggested a wonderful bottle of wine from amazing wine list. If you ever get to Denver it is must go to!!!!
