I have been going to this place for 25 years and I have never received a bad burger. The JC berger is my favorite and you can enjoy a large varity of brews. Saturday afternoon is a great time to go with your favorite person for a burger and brew and maybe bring the backgammon or chess boards and listen to the music and have a great time.

Pros: two thumbs way up - easy access, ambience, service

Cons: sometimes parking, crowds during lunch time

Freaking great place to grab a "Johnny Burger" and a stein. I've never had anything else there in the few years I've been visiting, but I can't imagine it being better than those two things. I've been there so many times at this point, all the waiters know me and what to get when I say "The usual".

Pros: Awesome burgers, beer and relaxed atmosphere. They're also often open past 1am!

Cons: Nothing that I can easily think of.

My Brother's Bar is very convenient, has a stunningly pretty, tree-shaded patio, great, off-beat classical music, and enthralling local history (as evidenced by the Beat Poets newspaper articles in the phone booth). Some of their menu items are cheap and delicious. We go there all the time. Most of the time we have a great time... you just have to know what to order in order to NOT get ripped off. Burgers...you can't miss. Chicken tenders? 30 cents worth of frozen-then-baked chicken. Don't bother. Beer... another can't miss. Tequila shots? Actually watered down! Don't bother. The nachos, too, are just chips with processed cheddar and chopped red onions. All in all, it's a great place you should try; the atmosphere is a delight. Just be aware some of the menu items aren't all they're cracked up to be.

Pros: Chill place to hang out, Denver legend, some awesome menu items

Cons: Some menu items are straight outta the freezer, weak drinks, iffy service

Being new to the city, I rely on these reviews when making a choice of where to go. I trusted the reviews of My Brothers Bar and was not dissapointed. Although I have had better burgers elsewhere, the jalepeno cream cheese burger was delicious. Love the box of condiments and probably the best onion rings I have ever tasted. We sat on the back patio and the atmosphere was exellent. My wife and I had probably our best night out at Brothers Bar since we moved to Denver a few months ago. We will definately be coming back, and will bring friends and family who come to visit for some good food and a few ice cold pints.

Pros: Atmosphere, price

Cons: Cant really think of any, but it is closed Sundays

Classical music, juicy burgers - what's not to love? And that's not even counting the fact that this cool little watering hole sells Girl Scout cookies nearly the whole year 'round. That's right, they buy them from local troops and sell them to the customers. Too cool.

You must be from redneck-ville to complain about this place.....15 minutes to deliver your food!!!! And who the hell expects to pay anywhere near what you paid for the meal you got???? Ronald McDonald??? I would eat here everday!!!

Food is so good. Not fancy, but oh so tasty. I wake nights craving their jalepeno burger. This is a truly fun place to take a group for some beer and yummy food served in paper. I highly recommend this bar... after all it is my Brother's Bar.

Pros: good hamburgers, great ambiance

Cons: gets super crowded

This is Food Snobs other choice for an OutRagiously GOOD Buffalo Burger ( and great bar ). I used to think the "Johnny", with cream cheese and jap peppers was named after me, but its the name sake of one of several brothers. ( one, I miss ) Great late night spot and yes, I find this little hangout romantic, even if the GREAT sandwhiches, dogs and Burgers all come to the table stacked on a plastic box full of glorious, fresh condiments. Additionaly, classical music, a great wine selection and a killer bowl of chili add to the charm here.

Pros: everything

Cons: nothing

I love My Brother's bar. If you are in the mood for a greasy burger this is the place to go to, absolutely delicious in that I know it's bad for me kinda way. Try the Johnny burger, it has swiss, cheddar, jalapeno cream cheese and grilled onions; heaven! I also love that they only serve good beer; you won't find any bud, coors or miller products here! Also the bartenders take good care of you, and pour some nice stiff drinks. The place seems to be family run, and it just has a good feel to it. Not to mention all the good karma they earn with the annual girl scout cookie sale. Highly recommended.

Pros: Delicious food, good beer, and drinks.

Cons: Closed on Sundays.

Pastrami on Rye sandwich and fries. After waiting about 15 minutes our meal finally arrived. To our shock the the sandwich was about the size of a hotdog bun but thinner. There was two slices of of thinly sliced pastrami and one slice of cheese. We thought that they had made a mistake and brought us a kids meal. Nope, this was the "regular menu sandwich". Keep in mind that the fries were not included in the price. $5.50 for this? No way. After a dicussion the manager and said "do me a favor, don't come back". I said, "not a problem". Like I'm going to return to a place that rips you off. I have been told the food is good but there are plenty of places within a couple of blocks that are far more generous and have a much better atmosphere.

Editor's Review

The edge-of-downtown location and tree-shaded patio of this burger haven are a welcome respite from LoDo.  See the full editorial review.
