Fabulous breakfast!

by fleemanc at Citysearch

Found The Delectable Egg on Citysearch and it was only a block from my hotel, so I couldn't pass it up. The menu is diverse, but not overcrowded and I was especially pleased to see juices available by the liter and half-liter for a very reasonable price. I ordered the frittata and was served a large portion with a generous helping of their own style hash browns and an english muffin. An excellent breakfast overall. The service was good, very friendly, and timely and the whole restaurant was clean and pleasant.

I found that it gets very crowded early in the morning (before 9:00), so be prepared to get there early or wait for a bit.

Highly recommended by this out of town visitor!

  • Pros: Great food, good service, pleasant atmosphere, reasonable prices
  • Cons: crowded in the morning

Fresh, tasty, unique breakfasts!

by llpinkboots at Citysearch

As big fans of a good breakfast, my husband and I tried The Delectable Egg on a recent trip to Denver based on customer reviews and were very pleasantly surprised. The restaurant was easy to find, and the staff were all friendly, helpful, and professional. We arrived late morning and the service was very fast--we were seated immediately upon arrival and received our order within five minutes--remarkable! Of course, the food was the best part...many choices, some standard fair but many unique, healthy choices. I tried the California eggs benedict--containing spinach, tomato, and avocado (in place of the typical ham) with a delicate hollandaise sauce on an English muffin--and it was delicious. My husband tried an omelette that he enjoyed very much. Nothing that we ordered was greasy and everything was a notch above. They gladly offer to substitute their cubed potato hash browns side dish with one of a variety of other choices, such as yogurt, cottage cheese, fresh fruit--which, by the way, really is "fresh" and not bottled or canned fruit. Lastly, we ordered a strawberry smoothie "for the road" and since it was made with real strawberries, we found it too very fresh tasting, fruity, and creamy (not full of ice). We can't say enough good things about this restaurant; give it a try!

  • Pros: healthy, unique, tasty menu items
  • Cons: that I don't live in Colorado, so I can go there more often! :o)

Popular urban eatery has a neighborhood feel complemented by fresh breakfast and lunch fare, with a specialty in--what else--eggs.

I eat here every weekend...

by denverdining at Citysearch

...and I am not the only one. This place is great! The staff are friendly and know us by name. What I love about this place is that the breakfast food is so fresh! It doesn't seem grease-soaked at all. The staff are willing and flexible to make substitutions - even when my order is becoming a little Meg-Ryan-esque from When Harry Met Sally! I suggest the Tex Mex, the California Benedict, the Strawberry-Banana Smoothie and the Breakfast Burrito. Also, this place is super fast. We love The Egg!

  • Pros: Food, Service, Price
  • Cons: Not open for dinner

great service, great food, and fast fast fast

by irishaugustine at Citysearch

The Delectable Egg on Court just keeps getting better. The food is great. The service is terrific. Becoming a regular there is a great experience. I have always been seated promptly even when they are very busy the wait is never too long and the food comes out so fast that I can always get where I need to be in time. The manager (who used to be a waitress there) is a woman named Sharon who will personally come to your table and make sure everything is great. She knows everyone and is very friendly and personable just like her staff.

  • Pros: friendly service, menu substitutions ok, fast
  • Cons: dated decor, limited seating, no parking

Karen's Corner

by kgoble7949 at Citysearch

I live in a city 90 miles from Denver. Whenever my husband and I go to Denver for the weekend, we stay at a hotel in downtown Denver, so that we can eat breakfast at the Delectable Egg. The service is always great and so is the food. They used to have a waitress named Sharon, who always remembered what we ordered, even if she didn't see us for months. When she left we thought we were doomed. Not the case. The staff, as a whole, is great. Next time you are in Denver you must eat there.

  • Pros: Food, Service, Time of wait
  • Cons: None
