Went looking for good soup on the basis of earlier reviews. What I found was one choice, which although it tasted okay, was served barely lukewarm, and at $4.50 I didn't think was a great bargain for the size. Worst of all, the place is dirty, and generally feels like they just don't care. I can't comment on the rest of the menu, but I won't be back to find out!

  • Pros: Nobody there...
  • Cons: Dirty and lacking in service.

I took away a star because Emily's is kind of hard to find. It's on Champa between 15th and 16th Streets, but it's below ground. I missed it the first time I tried to find it. The restaurant is also labeled badly. I was confused by the Vietnamese signs on the outside, and I thought I was in the wrong place. I'm glad I went in though.

All of the sandwiches are reasonably priced (between $5-7) and for the same price, you can get half of a sandwich, panini, or wrap with a soup or salad. That's cheaper than than the chains like Heidi's or Jason's for sure (even though I admit, I sometimes find myself in one of these joints, wondering how I got there and why I'm eating one of their delicious but overpriced sandwiches... but I digress).

I didn't try their soup, (which I've heard is very tasty, from numerous accounts) becase all they had today was French Onion (yuck) and some other bland flavor. I won't hold that against them though.

The menu is HUGE. Lots of sandwiches, paninis, and wraps to choose from. I wanted to order so many things. I settled for the Primo Pesto turkey sandwich on wheat (DELICIOUS!). The pesto added great flavor to the turkey, and the employee piled on the meat and pesto. Thanks dude. There was so much turkey I almost jumped in the air, clicked my heels together, and did a jig on my way back to 16th St. Mall.

I guess I went in after the lunch rush since I was the only person in there. The service was great. Fast and with a smile.

I do reccommend this (sort of) hidden (kind of) underground lunch spot.

  • Pros: Big menu, tasty, cheap
  • Cons: Location

Everything is great about Emily's - the service with a smile, the fun trivia, and of course, the food is terrific!

I always wondered why Emily's was packed everytime I attempted to try it. Now I know! It is awesome. It truly is a Vegetarians Dream and a Meatlovers Paradise! Their panninis are great and the soups are warm and yummy! The "Mostly Mozzarella" is delish! If you're ever craving a super sandwich and soup Emily's Gourmet-to-Go is the place to go (after the lunch rush if you can wait).

  • Pros: Food, Service, Inexpensive
  • Cons: Small setting, Crowded - lunch rush
