I walked in to this place and thought I hope this is all it is cracked up to be. I had a blast. The Piano players get you involved even if you don't want too. So if not into having fun and getting made fun of then this isn't the place for you. Request a Song any song and they will play it. They are amazing and entertaining!

So overrated!

We took my friend there for her bachelorette party the other night. We paid the $7 cover and were lucky enough to get a table. The bucket drinks were strong and tasty but it was really hard to get service. We all pitched in money to get a song for the bachelorette -- about $30. We gave our money and our request to the piano guy. About an hour later, they still hadn't played the song, so one of our group went up and asked about it and was pretty much brushed off. Another 30 minutes or so later, some of the people in our party needed to leave, but they kept waiting at the end of each song to see if ours would be next. Finally, we were really annoyed we hadn't heard the song we'd paid for and the waitress said she thought we could probably get our money back. We were all kind of afraid to go up there and get the money back, but didn't want it to just go to waste. Finally one of our girls went up and told the piano guy we had to leave and he let us take the money back, but he was obviously *not* pleased.

I realize the money you pay for songs is considered a "tip" and not straight up payment for a service. However, these guys create the system by announcing "hey everyone, this is what a $50 bill looks like! Happy birthday so-and-so!" So everyone knows you have to pay to hear your song or have your guest of honor go up on the stage. If these guys had no intention of playing the song for our friend on her bachelorette party, they should have said so when we submitted the request. Our $30 may not be as good as $50, but it's not chump change, either. Taking it back was embarassing, but I'm glad we did it, so those jerks didn't get our money for nothing. Thanks for ruining what was supposed to be the highlight of my friend's bachelorette.

We ended up leaving and spending the rest of our night at Fado, where frankly the band was better anyway.

Great for large groups

This place is a lot of fun, but it's really more of a place to go with a large group of friends rather than just one or two friends. I came here on a Friday night. We did a birthday package deal for $20, which included the cover charge for the birthday girl (worth $7), one bottle of champagne, and birthday decorations including streamers and hats. I thought it was well worth the money; after all, it's only $20 and it saves the hassle of decorating. We had a group of 19 people, so it was also worth it because you get reserved seating all together. They told us we had to be ther at 6:30. Our group drifted in over the course of 6:30 to about 7pm when the show started. There were other tables reserved for which the people never ended up showing up--management kept those tables reserved until about 8 or 8:30. The atmosphere is chaotic and fun, but definitely takes a bit of imbibing of adult beverages to truly appreciate. They also serve food which comes from Old Chicago. Service was extremely slow--you almost need to order two drinks at a time or order double talls, or something. The waitress could have made much more money if she'd come around more often.

Yes, it is a piano bar. Yes, it is crowded and noisy and overpriced and filled with drunk frat boys and bachelorette parties with drunk women getting on stage and doing silly things for attention. Yes, what I'm saying...........it is fun. And the musicians rock.

The Sing Sing shtick gets SOOOOO old (If you're not completely wasted!!!!!!!!)

As a person who tends to enjoy activities others find annoying (e.g. karaoke, the Electric Slide, etc.), I really thought Sing Sing would become my favorite place on Earth! With the dueling pianos pounding out beloved classics from every pop artist you can think of while the audience is encouraged to sing along, Sing Sing should have been my version of paradise. However, after having been dragged there about 4 times now for various graduation, birthday, and bachelorette parties, I can truthfully say that I would rather get a hypodermic needle stuck in my eye hourly than ever go back to Sing Sing again. The pianists, while extremely talented at their instrument and charismatic in their own right, will openly mock song selections and the people who chose them, unless of course, there is a $20 bill attached to the request form. Then they suddenly have no problem with playing "American Pie" for the 6,000th time of the evening. Because of the pianists' elitist attitudes towards the requesting/tipping system, I'm sure that those who have the disposable income necessary to get one of their songs played have a grand time, whereas poor college students who can't comfortably spend more than maybe a couple of bucks per request get the shaft and have to sit through increasingly painful renditions of "Margaritaville." The last time I was there, I had to get thoroughly intoxicated just so I could endure Sing Sing for two hours, and even then, I found myself bolting drunkenly out the door before 10 PM. On a complimentary note, I am a fan of how Sing Sing celebrates bachelorette parties and birthdays by getting the celebrant in question up on stage, putting a bumper sticker with a lewd comment on either the chest or rear end, and making them do something hideously embarrassing.

• Cons: Annoying music, snotty pianists, sub-par service

do NOT plan Bachleorette Party here; Very Rude Piano Players; Poor Customer Service

our bachleorette party was singled out by old piano players b/c we were having too much of OUR own fun. We were taking pictures and collectively spent well over $250 on drinks however, the piano players on about 4 occassions 'reprimanded' our group for not "paying attention" to them. One person spoke to the manager who was very relaxed and did nothing. The waitress stated that they were "jerks" and apologized. The worst part is when most of the party was outside and one person was left paying her tab she over heard the piano player saying "lets give a big hand..the [expletive--female dog] have finally left the building".

I will NEVER go here and encourage bachleorette parties (in particular large parties) to go else where...Denver has lots more spots. Save yourselves the aggravation!

Jazz bar with tinkling pianos this ain't--instead, deuling pianos entertain a rowdy crowd with sing-along songs.

The Scene
Raucous and sometimes raunchy partiers take to the dance floor--and occasionally the stage--incited by two singing pianists. Alcohol flows freely throughout the smoky chamber flanked by bars on each end, while brazen bachelorettes, cozy coworkers and college enthusiasts chime in loudly. The multitalented onstage entertainers take requests (and money) for songs from the '50s to the present--patrons with the most cash win.

The Draw
For people craving entertaining ways of celebrating big birthdays, upcoming weddings or similar life-changing events, this is the spot to let it all hang loose--and there are plenty of props to make sure it does. Hungry? Old Chicago provides pizzas, pretzels and other snacks, while homemade brews quench patrons' thirst. Signs comparing pianos to breasts and the dueling pianists persuade even the stiffest of suits to lighten up.

Lots of fun!

While I wouldn't recommend going here every weekend (it doesn't change much week to week), this is a great place if you want to go out and have some fun!

Musical Chaos!

This place is THE ANSWER to the same old tired meat market clubs. My friends and I have had a great, wild time every time we've gone. Make sure to get the 48oz SHOT called the Buzz Bucket and request the TIJUANA song! This is definitely the funnest club in Denver! Get there early, though, if you want a table, 'cause they really pack 'em in like sardines on the weekends!!

Good time had by all

Sing Sing is a great place to be on a Friday or Saturday night. The players are talented, quick witted and very entertaining. Not the kind of place you just up and leave after 20 minutes, you can stay here for hours. It truly never gets dull!
