User Reviews for Sports Column

5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended

The story below could not be farther from the truth. The Sports Column offers great customer service and the managers make sure of it. Ask any employee there and they will tell you that the owner is a stickler for customer service. Although I did have words with this customer, and for this I was terminated, it is a shame that anyone could sign up on here and tarnish the reputation a business has worked so hard to get. You cannot please everybody all of the time and the customer IS NOT always right. I wish people had to wait tables before they were allowed to eat in a restaurant and then they might see what we have to deal with and what we get paid $4 to do. We are all human and we do make mistakes! This is the type of person that is looking for a handout and that you probably wouldn't be able to please no matter how hard you tried.

While meeting with me brother at the bar for the UFC fight my brother and his friend were drinking beer. I came about 8 p.m. and my brother offered to pay for my two drinks about 9 p.m. We were VERY nice to the waitress (Becca) she was very rude and threw the bill onto our table (did not thank us or even ask if we were still drinking). We were not tabing out simply paying for our drinks separately. My brother because of her attitude only tipped 10%. She grabbed the bill looked at it in front of us shook her head and got very upset. The next time she was near our table I VERY politely asked if she would get us more drinks ant that I would pay for them and tip better. She started to walk away and said, "get your f&#$ing drinks at the bar". I told her I wanted to see he manager and she ignored me. I asked again and she said, "I don't give a sh&t who you tell." pointed out her manager and said, "he won't do anything, go ahead." After speaking to the manager she came over to us and started attacking me again. Telling me that my brother was cheap and that she wouldn't serve us. Her manager simply said he would talk to her, did not apologize or get us anymore drinks. She, for the next hour pointed us out to other customers and mummered insults under her breathe. Never will I go to this bar again

Pros: nice tv's

Cons: Terrible Service, young management, no authority, customer's not first

Just happened to stop in over the weekend. What a great place. The place was packed with Iowa Hawkeye fans cheering for their team. The service was great, the beer was cold. The bartenders were great. Will be first stop next time I we're back in Denver.

Pros: Atmosphere

$1 you call it Thursdays are hideous. If all you care about is getting drunk cheaply, then by all means, this place is for you....granting you can get to the ridiculously over crowded bar. It smells like beer and urine and it takes about an hour to get across the bar. I've only been there Thursday nights, so I really can't comment on any other time there, but I hate it with a burning passion...

Pros: cheap thursday drinks

Cons: Everything else

I typically go out solo and observe. Love to people watch. I disagree with the previous review. Yes Sports Column has great atmosphere and drink specials but NO there service is not lousy. I know the GM or owner is constantly making sure service is second to none because i over hear him talk to his staff and take care of his customers. Only downside is that sometimes it gets too loud - music and crazy sports fans. If you haven't been - you must go!

Pros: SERVICE

Cons: Loud

Great to watch sports, join the college scene on Thursday nights (and cheap drinks!), but poor service from servers and managers. Some of the bartenders are pretty cool, but mostly average. The only thing that makes this place stand out is that it's a pretty chill place. The party-goers are friendly and the scene is anti-poshy. hooray!

Pros: thristy thursdays: cheap drinks, big crowds

Cons: bad service

The SC is a great place to watch football of any kind in a passionate and energetic atmosphere. In no way are you forced to have a Broncos jersey to enter the door. Fans of all shapes, ages and jersey colors go here. The location is right in LODO and a few blocks from coors field. The food is surprisingly good and I highly recommend any sports fan on a diet to try their version of the Philly Steak sandwich.. :) Overall it is the best sport bar in Denver, hands down.

Pros: Atmosphere, space, food

With a new head cook and lots of new waitstaff, the Sports Column has come a long way. Its a great place to meet new people while enjoying your favorite game. Just ask and they will put your game of choice on any of the many tvs. If you are a sports fan, this is the place to be at in Denver.

Pros: staff, people

The Extras

Considering its proximity to Coors Field, it's certainly a pre- and post-Rockies-game depot for fans. But the bar isn't limited to sports enthusiasts; weekend nights attract the singles crowd.
