The chair I was sitting on was taken from me - literally!! (And for no good reason)
by mytchewbacca
The only good thing that I have to say is that I got a great story out of our night. We arrived at around 7 ish and had no problem finding a table, which happened to be a pub table - a little squished to the table next to it but really not a problem. We were informed after 9 pm that at 10 pm, the bar staff would be moving our table out to the patio (mind, it is February, and the only people on the patio are smokers). Since it was already decided for us that we would no longer have a table, we decided to get our tab (which was a pretty decent size, by that time - just the customers you want to ride out of your establishment, don't you think?) and go somewhere else. By the time we closed out, it was around 10 pm and I still had a little of my drink left, and I figured I payed for it so I was going to finish it. However, the bouncers came up and declared that they were taking our table at that moment. Talk about giving us the boot!! But here's the funny part. I was sitting on my chair (minus the table, mind you), finishing my drink and minding my own business, when the bouncers returned and declared that he was taking my chair as well!!! After asking why (he mumbled something to do with capacity limits or some bs like that) and asking why I couldn't finish the drink that I had paid for while sitting on the chair I had occupied for the last few hours in his establishment, AND asking why he could not take the EMPTY chair next to another table - I finally quit arguing and gave up (it was either that or laying him out on the floor!). Needless to say, I put my drink - with drink still left in it (and I don't waste alcohol) back on the bar and walked out. I DO NOT plan to return. Sad, but good story, huh?
- Pros: If you like to have your chair demanded from you.
- Cons: They take your chair away from you for no good reason.
Ugly ladies, overpriced drinks, and the lovely aroma of regurgitation.

Arriving early (8:30 pm) on a Friday night, we had the place virtually to ourselves. There were two tables full of questionable looking middle-aged ladies and one slag getting her drunk on as she chatted up the bartender. We grabbed some beers and some whiskey and found a cozy little booth. Within moments we noticed a pungent smell that was not wafting from our whiskey glasses. Obviously someone had thrown up all over the booth and the staff's cleaning methods left much to be desired. We switched tables and were soon approached by a representative of Walker Scotch who certainly would need to hand out free drinks if she would ever have a hope of men responding to her. A couple of plastic shot glasses of whiskey later we were ready to pick up the check and get out of this hole. By this time (10 pm) the population had swelled to a roaring 20 people, none of which could catch an eye with a fish hook. Signing for the check I realized that the bartender had tried to double bill us for everything! Although it was an establishment we tried to forget, the smell of their spew soaked booth remained on our clothes for hours.
- Pros: Double doors to exit through quickly.
- Cons: Everything else. Theiving bartenders, overpriced beer, throw-up on the seats.
Awesome food, servers, and ambience?cringe-worthy drinks.

If I were rating this place on my dinner, the service, or atmosphere alone I would give it 5 stars for sure. Unfortunately I have to factor in the beverages and that drops the overall score to 3 (and it would be 2.5 if I could give half stars).
First the good part. Cute waitress with a bubbly personality and a fireplace, I don't know how you could go wrong. The food outstanding, best fish fry I've had outside of the Midwest and only my grandma could make boxty that tasy.
Now the bad part. I ordered a Guinness and I haven't ever wondered what it would taste like if you let it sit out in the sun in the sun for 3 weeks after straining it through a pair of dirty socks?but now I know. So I asked to replace my Guinness with a Smithwick's and when I explained why I could tell the bartender had no idea what Guinness is supposed to taste like or that he was a indeed, a total assclown. My guess is that there CO2/Nitrogen system isn't working at all, isn't working properly, or is just non-existent. And even if it were working they probably don't use the 25% CO2 and 75% nitrogen Guinness recommends to keep the beer fresh.
Too bad the Smithwick's didn't taste much better. Probably suffering from the same problems as the Guinness. Although this one did have a pleasantly surprising soapy taste. Perhaps they didn't wash the glass properly. Lucky me. My girlfriend didn't want me to make complain again so I bit my tongue and drank it.
You may be thinking 'It can't possibly get any worse than this?' but it does. At the end of our meal I ordered some Scotch. How could you possibly go wrong with Scotch? Well if you thin it with rubbing alcohol, or some other cheap alcohol based yet not fit for human consumption liquid that tastes of gasoline, you can. Now this may just be a hunch, but I have had my fair share of many Scotches fine and not so fine and this particular glass was absolutely undrinkable. To test my hunch I held my glass up to the light and sure enough it was diluted.
- Pros: everything but the drinks
- Cons: the drinks
Excellent customer service and the best Black and Tan in town.
by ladytazz
Been here a few times and always had an enjoyable time. Very authentic Irish cuisine along with some more American items. The service was attentive and friendly, the food was very good, served hot. Consistently the best Black and Tan I have ever had and that includes trips to London. I would recommend Fado Irish Pub to anyone for a unique and fun outing.
- Pros: atmosphere, parking, service, food, drinks
Best Irish Pub in Town - BEST GUINESS!!!!!! I am Irish so that is saying something
by irishshannon
I am not sure where the other reviewers were but I think this is the best Irish pub in town. Being an Irish American it feels like a piece of Ireland. The Corn Beef Boxty was fantastic. The Black and Tans were the best I have had probably because the owner, a native of Ireland, demands it to be served the right way. The service was excellent even though it was the Santa Pub Crawl with 30 or so partying Santas and Elves. Mike and Brian are the best. I highly recommend going but only if you are looking to have some fun like an Irishman. Slainte!
- Pros: Guiness!, Atmoshpere, Large Screen TVs, Menu and Food, Staff
- Cons: NONE!
Bad Food, Bad Service
by soccerzales007
The service was awful and the food was worse. This is a poor excuse for an Irish Pub; I will NEVER go back.
Horrible Customer Service
by cchristianson9
I went to Fado last weekend with some friends, expecting a fun night out. Unfortunately, once we entered the bar, our night took a turn for the worse. We sat at a table near the fire place and waited 20 minutes before anyone even came over to greet us. Once we actually had a server, she treated us as if we were more of an irritaion than the paying customers we really were. After placing a drink order, we could see our drinks ready in the service well, but our server disappeared for over 10 minutes so we just waited... and waited. She forgot to put in our appetizer order so we waited even longer for that, and then once it did come, we didn't even have silverware! We had to go to the bar to ask for napkins and silverware since our waitress had again "disappeared." We could see her on the other side of the bar chatting away with her fellow useless servers, completely ingnoring us. We couldn't believe how rude she was! We decided NOT to do dinner there as planned and promptly asked for the bill. Of course, she had screwed that up too and had double charged us for our drinks. We had to wait for another 15 minutes while she got a manager to take the drinks off. I will never go back to this poor excuse for a bar.
Maybe Fado management should the hire a new service staff with true customer service experience.
Fun Place
by colorado720
Very nice place to hang out after work or on the weekend. The place gets a good crowd. The patio is always fun if it is not too cold outside. They have the best 80?s band I have ever seen play frequently on the weekends. The staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable. Highly recommended.
- Pros: Patio. Band
