Best pint in Denver

by Denver Dan

Most authentic Irish bar in Denver. Nothing fancy, just great beer and friendly, fast service. (Just like in Ireland!) Owner, John, is from County Mayo and he's usually there, happy to greet you and make you feel at home. Many staff from Ireland, too, and all are fantastic. By far the best pint and cheaper than most Irish and non-Irish bars. Great place to go with your friends or just sit at the bar and enjoy the Craic!

  • Pros: Best Guinness, best service, great prices

Best Denver Irish Pub

by scruffman17

We came up from Phoenix for vacation in Denver. Before we came to Denver we researched the local Irish pubs in 303 and Nallen's was highly recommended. Thank-you to all of you who recommended it. The staff was fabulous, friendly and very accommodating. Sara, our server and from Ireland, was on top of it, very friendly and helpful. Prices were more than reasonable, a wide selection of brews and liquor, and authentic atmosphere. While we were there we ran into a bit of twilight-zone situation (a jealous woman threw a bottle of beer at her husband who happened to be talking to us) and my girlfriend was cut by the glass of the bottle. The staff was immediately responsive and very concerned for her health. They took her back and fixed her up rightly. They promptly replaced our beers and were genuinely concerned with her well being. We will be here for the St. Paddy's Day festivities and you can bet we will be at Nallen's. It's good to know that there still exists a pub that honestly cares about their patrons. Nallen's holds a very special place in both of our hearts. Oh, by the way, hot-hot clientle all around.

  • Pros: Authentic atmosphere, friendly service, good prices.
  • Cons: Parking, but its downtown whatya gonna do?

Fun fun pub.

Amazingly friendly atmosphere - great "at home" feeling. Great service, crowded but always meet lots of fun people everytime we go and always come away saying"What a fun night" ! Everyone is Irish at the Pub.

Excellent choices of brews.

Just the basics

by bluesongbyrd

Okay, this is one of my favorite Irish pubs for two reasons: first, I met my DH there (had no idea this was so common until I read other reviews); second, this is no-nonsense beer drinking for those who don't care about "atmosphere" or silly stuff on the walls and goofy food menus like an O'Hamburger. They serve food from the pizza joint next door. No frills, no gimmicks. Just good taps and friendly folks.

  • Pros: Great beer & atmosphere
  • Cons: Usual downtown traffic/parking

Great customer service, friendliest staff in town, great pints, the most reasonable prices for a night out.

by loveberry

The staff tells me threre has been at least twenty weddings out of this small friendly pub in ten years. Is that not romance or irish matchmaking? I met my husband there on St. Patricks Day two years ago. Overall, it is the best pub in Denver.

  • Pros: great service and stiff drinks
  • Cons: none

By far the best St. Patty's Day in town! Haven't missed one for the past 7 years! Always a good laugh and the special Irish food made by the owners for the celebration is amazing! The best corned beef and cabbage and lamb stew you will ever have. I would recommend getting there early because it starts to get crowded as soon as the doors open. It's the 1st true Irish Pub in town and the Irish staff make the experience truly authentic!

Owner John Nallen's neighborhood bar is a favorite of local Irish folk and downtown pub crawlers.

In Short
Afternoons and early evenings are the best times for savoring a quiet pint at this friendly Larimer Square pub. In addition to Irish stout, the house pours a list of British beers and a few local craft drafts. The scotch selection is good and reasonably priced. Nallen's serves no food, but visitors can order pizzas from the Old Chicago next door.

a great bar

by pee

Nallen's is one of the few laid back "LoDo" bars. I don't consider it "LoDo" because the crowd is jeans and tee shirts and not the "just turned 21 crowd" that frequents many of the other area bars. The service has always been good and is the best place for St Pat's Day or any other event! Saturday afternoons are fun too.

  • Pros: people, atmosphere, prices

Not Disney Ireland

by Denver_Concierge

Nallen's is the pub in Denver that get's me out of the house on a rainy night to get a pint. I travel to Ireland every year for familt and this place takes me back. John is always there to say hello and greets you hospitality only the Irish can give. This is the best place for a jar and good company.

  • Pros: Staff, Guinness, everything
  • Cons: not a, single, complaint

best irish atmosphere in denver

by starbellyfaith

we were on a mission to find a pub in denver with any semblance of the kind of atmosphere you could find in ireland. nallen's was the only place that was even close, the bartender's were great, the regulars were friendly. . .truly the type of place to go in denver for some good craic.

  • Pros: great jukebox!, good location, great drinks
  • Cons: no food, no food, no food
