this must be one of the most authentic places in all of denver. the music is beautiful, the atmospere is small and the passion is enlightening. i have not found but one or two places that can match its charm and energy.

Never disappointing, always great, old school jazz bands. All ages and walks of life. Cheap beer!!

It may be small, it may be crowded, it may be smokey, BUT, there is no better place to find the absolute best jazz in Denver ANY night! The house bands are cool jazz at its best. The guest bands are icing on the cake!

Pros: Best Jazz anywhere

Definately, one of the best jazz places overall. It's a small bar but the best jazz music lies there. Never a dull night. It's a cool vibe inside because everyone is there for the music not only to get smashed. You'll see guys in jeans and women in fur! It's just a cool hangout...I miss it! I live in Phoenix now with no jazz scece...

I was in El Chapultepec on Wednesday May 22 and the bartender was so rude. He was very upset that my boyfriend was ordering a water (He was the designated driver!) The music was great and I got to talk to the drummer for a while at the bar. I have enjoyed every other time I've gone so hopefully he was just having a bad night (really bad night).

Editor's Review

Denver's live-jazz stronghold still hosts some of the city's best performances and crowds.  See the full editorial review.
