Worst night out. This place made for one of the worst nights out in a long time. We had been before and had a good time, so there was anticipation, but that had a different DJ on Saturday night, who despite the sign insisting they do not take bribes, the only people singing seemed to be the girls that were hugging up on him, the guys who knew his first name and his sister. We arrived before many of these singers and yet with a group of 17 (and a birthday party, that we told them about...they ruined her night, the DJ was so rude to her), we had only one group sing in the 3 and a half hours we were there. This frustration only accentuated the fact that the service is subpar at best, the manager did nothing to address our complaints and the drinks are overpriced for a place that is set like dive bar. All we wanted to do was sing and they turned it into a night of disappointment. It is an extremely unprofessional environment and would never subject a friend of mine to that atmosphere again.  View Less View More

WORST &%!$* bar in Denver.. Our group of six sat down at 10, and sat drinkless for 30 minutes in a room of 30 people. We all signed up for karaoke and didn't sing until 11:30, after watching others sing multiple times.

The venue itself is extremely confined and the tables are too close together to move freely to the bar or bathrooms.

The drunk DJ pays no attention to volume, allows people to wail loudly, clipping the speakers and forcing us to relocate.

When I stepped outside for less than 5 minutes, my full beer was gone when I returned, which was not refunded or replaced.

The staff made us feel unwelcome as if we were intruders.

If there is any place you go in Denver, DO NOT waste your time or money here. I am so dissatisfied with this experience I created this Citysearch account solely to write this review.  View Less

Fun place. Armida's is a very lively, energetic and fun place to hang out. The staff changes less regularly than you might think so there's usually someone there who will recognize you. It's the kind of place you can go to alone and leave with a handful of friends. The drinks are a bit pricey and the cocktails are usually flat (no fizz!) so I'd recommend a beer and the chile rellenos. Really, this is a very fun place and worth a visit!  View Less View More

Looking for another place to go instead!. y sister loves karaoke and bars. And since this place is close to our home, we went two to four times a week. The DJ knows my sister by name , but nobody else does. They always ask us for ID even though they saw us the night before. The last time we went there, she left her ID at home and they wouldnt even accept her Passport. We had to get the DJ to let us in. Most of the time I go, they don't even ask me if I want something to drink. The last time I went there (full house because of a party) I had to stand against a wall, where the waiter came screaming at me to get out of the way. The "mexican" food is mediocre, I am latino and would rather go to chipotle or qdoba. Once I saw a couple almost making their booth into their bedroom.  View Less View More

One of the coolest karoake joints.. Wow they have really updated their karoake selection and went digital plus brought back karoake at 6pm every nite! The only drawback is the new hrs 5-1:30am which means no more great lunches! But still by far my favorite place.  View Less View More

Where Everybody Knows Your Name. I have been going to Armida's for over 5 years now, and it is by far my favorite hangout in Denver! I am a karaoke fiend and absolutely adore meeting up with my friends each Wednesday night to do a little singing and enjoy the delicious, authentic-tasting Mexican food. (Though there is karaoke 7 nights a week, I have always found the weekends to be a little too crowded for my liking, so I stick with Wednesdays and the occasional Sunday) Armida's has a really cool vibe, and the staff treats their regulars like family. The wait staff there even has my order memorized so I can just say "the usual," which is really cool! The crowd is very diverse depending on the night you go. If you don't want to meet up with a bunch of drunk 20-something hipsters coming in from the nearby Funky Buddha, you probably shouldn't go on Fridays or Saturdays. The rest of the week is highly unpredictable. Some nights, it's a small crowd singing mellow James Taylor-type songs, and other nights it's an energetic group of people butchering 80's pop classics. Armida's also recently added some really cool stage lighting which is somewhat blinding when you're on the stage, but serves its purpose in giving everybody the rock-star feeling. I have had my last 3 birthday parties there, and look forward to many more!  View Less View More

Laid-back Mexican restaurant serves up surprisingly good food and karaoke that rocks the house.. In Short
Despite slightly cheesy decor, Armida's is a great place to hang out. In better weather, the patio offers an open invitation, and the muraled dining room is also comfortable. Plus, there's a small, intimate bar and pool tables upstairs. Basic but authentic Tex-Mex dishes include burritos, enchiladas, chiles rellenos and beans and rice. What's more, with Karaoke every night of the week, Armida's is one of the Denver's most popular karaoke bars.  View Less View More

Great for Friends!!. Armida's is a great place to bring friends for any kind of celebration. A group of friends met there last month for my birthday - and it turned out to be one of my best ever. We started with their happy hour -- 2 for 1 mixed drinks, from 4-6pm. Besides the cool music, the excellent homemade food and karaoke just added to a great birthday. Thanks to the family at Armida's for helping to make my day a little extra special!  View Less View More
