Was not totally impressed

I was there a few weeks ago on vacation visiting my girlfriend. Im from Jersey and have been living in NY for sometime, and have been in the scene for about 5 years, including being a street teamer of NYCs Revolver, as well as having been a patron of NYC's best weekly industrial party, Asylum Guild, since its beginning. Being friends of the guys who started AG and Revolver, and learning to DJ myself, Ive learned a thing or two.
The venue itself is truly impressive, spacious dance floors and nice smoking lounge, but I can see and heard how sound can get muddled due to its size. The bars were certainly pleasing, drinks cheap early in the night, in addition to getting in free before 10, is definately a plus. Quality is also good, its the only club Ive frequented where I can get Patron tequila, the size shot I was given was definately impressive as well.
The only negative I found was the music itself. The djs are quite skilled but what they were playing, for the most part, wasnt that great. A good number of "H I T" songs, stuff that Ive come to not enjoy so much due to hearing it WAY overplayed in other clubs back here. Its a nice place to go, but really cant hold up to my experiences here on the East Coast, maye when I move there permanently I'll be able to inject some NYC flavor into the scene out there.
- Pros: spacious, quality drinks for the money, parking
- Cons: DJ's music selections
Goth Night

it was a great haven at one time for under agers to go party like rock stars. but now we get nothing not even an explanation as to why we cant go there anymore. the only upside to the Sunday night goth night is the two bartenders Stephanie and Doug. i hope one day the owners realize we under agers were taking over that night and were giving them the most money for entrance fee's and drinks. the music used to be really cool but has not been as cool recently this past year its been more slow songs and stuff and not a mix of dancy songs with slow songs.
Better for the stories than for the experience!

How cool is it to party in a church!?!?! Sounds like such a great concept, but honestly, it's so BIG inside that even when filled with a decent crowd, the club winds up feeling rather empty. Music was ok, not the greatest. Barteners are attentive though, so that's a plus. And the wait is not too long (which is especially important during Denver winters!) Overall, I'd say it's definitely worth a visit..but I probably wont be a regular.
- Pros: You get to say you clubbed at a church!
- Cons: not as exciting as it sounds...

This is where the people who know how to dance, dance. Friday night the main floor plays pumping dance music. The main dance floor is nice and long and hard wood. You get an incredible view of the main dance floor from the balcony. The architecture of being inside a church, the big dance floor, and the lighting on the dance floor. Now whats also cool about this club is the Great Outdoors. You can go on the roof.
- Pros: the Music, people come to dance
- Cons: No A/C, closes at 1:45.
One of the Best

A church fitted for a night out. Well done. The decor is wonderful and they do try to accommodate all desires. The basement club needs work but has a great Industrial/EBM night. Lines to the bar are long. The place is expensive so know to expect that.
- Pros: Good Sites, Good Sounds
- Cons: Parking, Expensive
Great venue!

The club itself is amazing. Who wouldn't love to drink and dance inside a church? The only thing I hate is when you go to see a DJ you really like, but you can't actually see anything. I think the DJ booth should be lowered. I prefer Vinyl for big name DJ's because you can actually see the DJ and see him spin.
- Pros: Good Venue
- Cons: The DJ booth is too high, you can't see them or anything they do.
This former cathedral pumps up the volume and praises the electronic gods on the dance floor.

In Short
With several bars, three dance areas, a couple of lounges and even a sushi bar, The Church makes getting rowdy lots of fun. Depending on the night and the room, it attracts crowds of goths, mods and club kids. There's obvious appeal to ordering a drink and dancing the night away in a former church. However, it's not a concert hall: Sound bounces off the stone walls and cavernous high-arched ceilings creating some less-than-stellar acoustics.

The club is pretty nice. It features techno music and hiphop. The downstairs/basement, where the hiphop is, is a bit crowded and gets pretty hot, though what club isnt' like that. The rooftop is wonderful though. Nice place to cool down and get a breath of fresh air.

Loud house/transe music and a gothic/holy setting make for a fun night here. There's a decent sushi bar as well. This joint gets mighty crowded, but head out to the rooftop bar and you can cool off and catch some fresh air. Like any good church, this is the place to be on Sunday.

I won't lie, it used to be better, but if you don't get wierded out from dancing in a cathedral this is still a cool place to party. The music is loud and the dancing is hot.
