The most rude employees I've ever dealt with in any kind of store

If you're not a bicycle expert, they simply want nothing to do with you. If you're a novice like me, just looking for some basic information, looking for a good starter bike, they make it very obvious that you're wasting their time. And dear God, if they're talking bike-lingo and you ask for something to be explained, you may well be asking the guy to sever a limb for you. The guy was literally groaning when I asked certain questions. I live three blocks from them, but I'll never set foot inside Turin again.

Too bad. I was a newbie too and they took great care of both me and my wife. Save your dramatic posting. I had a great experience here and bought two bikes. Not before I came back four times without laying down any coin or expressing serious interest. Each time the staff would answer my inane questions or just let me browse with no pressure.

I'd Send My Sister Here!

I would know she would be treated fairly and not taken advantage of. I would know that she would get what she wanted not what the guy on the floor pushed on her.

I just bought two new Trek Soho bikes here and Jake and the guys really did a good job with me and my wife. Things were ready when promised the prices were fair and the depth of knowledge was all that I could ask for.

Maybe the guys are direct and no BS but I'd rather have that than less qualified staff any day of the week.

These guys are great.

Wish we'd read these reviews before we went there on Saturda

I went into Turin Bikes years ago and swore I would never go back. Years later I was sure that there arrogance must have worn off or they couldn't possibly stay in business. My husband and I were in there on Saturday, both of us want to upgrade our bicycles. The young man who helped us was real friendly at first but when I returned with the bike that he had me test, I said it was way to small for me (it must be a children's bike) he said that if this bike did't fit that none of his other bikes would work and I should stay with my present cruiser. Then he disappeared. I am sure there are better bike shops in Denver, save yourself a demeaning experience and find one. I will try them again in another 20 years. NOT

Disappointing.

This place is awful. I have been in there a few times for repairs and questions. The mechanics I have dealt with are "pleasant" meaning only that they are not outright rude but at the same time seem to be the least bit interested in your bike. Last time I was in there they told me I would have to wait over a week for them to order a part that any respectable bike shop should keep a variety of options in stock.

The sales people (if that is what we are calling them) seem to be where this shop takes a total nosedive though.

The last time I went in there I had barely made it through the front door when one of them actually yelled at me with a scowl on his face and in an aggressive tone "What do you need?" when I told him I was looking for a specific part he told me they didn't have it in such a way that he was trying to make me feel stupid that I didn't know they didn't have that particular part (like somehow I should have known already and I was an idiot because I didn't). Amazing to say the least.

On the same trip I heard him telling a guy that was purchasing a new bike that certain parts that came with the bike (and were on the floor model) were not on the bike when they wheeled his out from storage because those parts were "garbage" and he should spend more money to buy better parts (which I am guessing they would have subsequently charged him to put on). If that's not an underhanded sales maneuver I don't know what is.

By the way don't bother contacting them via email or through their website as they do not respond, although I can't imagine calling them would be a pleasant experience either.

They had me at "please don't touch that bike". I have been involved in the ski and bike industries for much of my adult life and I have NEVER experienced such poor service as I did at Turin. I felt like I was sized up the minute that I walked in and deemed to be not worthy or their time or energy. My best advice is to stay far away from this pretentious shop.

Epitome of sucking it

You would have to fly to Russia to get this bad of service. The sales staff manage to appear arrogant and half asleep simultaneously. Also the most over-priced shop in central Denver, bar none. Don't bother.

Much improved

I was really disappointed by Turin's high prices and snobby attitude in mid-2006. I've dropped in several times in 2007, though, and think they've come a long way. Prices are still high, but the staff is much more attentive and willing to talk to you even if you're not member of the pro set.

bike snobs

I found quite of few of their sales associates to be snobbish and cold. Often, they seem to be sleep walking through their jobs and don't actively assist customers. When I wanted assistance, I had to practically beg for it.

The mechanics, on the other hand, seem much more customer oriented and friendly. If the sales associates took a clue from them, then this shop might be better all around. It would also be nice to find a bike shop in town that gets to know their regular customers by name (at least by first name!).
